Aww, RIP Laddie... that was an unwelcome and unexpected twist at the end. Glad you got to spend some quality time with him on your trip. So sorry for your loss.
So sorry to see about Laddie. I hope he really enjoyed your adventure to Cornwall and he'll always be checking on your work from up high. Love this project
I must admit, it took me such a long time to get this next part out because I’m absolutely heartbroken. I could barely keep myself together to edit the video but I get to share so many fantastic memories with some wonderful people on this channel. I will treasure the time I had with him forever. The next part is coming, I promise! ❤️
Sophie, great work on Gordon and RIP Laddie. Gordon is very road and off road worthy, great camera work and audio voice over too, as always. Can't wait to see more. Geoff.
my heart panged when I saw Laddie asleep, things are never the same when you lose a partner. Amazing quality of work Sophie, as always! looking forward to your next instalment!
Sophie, so very sorry to hear of Laddie passing!!! Your wonderful memories will never pass!!! God bless you always !!!! Eddy. ( United States.. Virginia)
When you see black deposits coming out from behind a rivet in aluminium, it's fretting corrosion. You have a loose rivet. It happens on aircraft too! Great to see you back. Best wishes, Dean.
Hey Sophie!! I showed my mum some of this video the other day. She liked your accent. I live in Western Australia and our version of BBC featured a story about a lady about your age who also fixes up Landrovers. Mum saw it and thought it was a story about you! Here’s the link to the news story “Strangers online told Madelyn she couldn't rebuild this vintage vehicle. Now she's proving them wrong” The story on ABC news is called “Female Fourwheel drive enthusiast confronts stereo types. “ I reckon if you got in touch, she would be well stoked to hear from you.
Happy New year to you too Sophie. Great to see you making lots of progress again. So sad to see that you lost Laddie. I'm sure he will continue to monitor your progress from on high.
Thank you for watching and the kind words. It has taken me quite a while to get this part out due to loosing my best pal. I’m just so grateful to have so many wonderful memories and to be able to share them with some great people. Thank you for watching ❤️
Really sorry to hear of Laddie's passing , nothing worse than loosing a four legged friend, focus on all the good times you had, the sadness fades but the good memories stay sharp ♥️
I really enjoyed your videos Sophie, glad to see you posting some videos again. So sorry for your loss, I'm sure Laddie is running happily and will monitoring your adventures from up there
Always a Delight to watch you working Sophie..... Just a quick "Touch Up" you say??? I do know that you do love to get "Involved" in your restorations... But washing the Car is my idea of a Touch up..... I do highly recommend Travel.... It is a Big World with some amazing places and people to see..... Watch some "Itchy Boots" videos... She is Amazing.... RIP Laddie.... :-) xx
Thank you for watching and the kind words! I really do like having multiple plates spinning at once ay haha. I suppose it keeps me happy/busy and provides some entertainment!
A very sad ending to such a wonderful life but I am sure that he is watching over you from far above and keeping an eye on what's to come. Its always great to see how things are progressing with your projects and the quality of your work is really good to see from someone so young, your a credit to your generation and something to be very proud of. Keep up the good work Sophie and keep on enjoying your adventure and inspiring others to follow your example. I have to say that the Cork float had me in stiches, why on earth would any one use a Cork...LMAO
Those are some solid welds! I Just got a new welder from the 80s a 300kg esab, but its silky smooth in thin and thick material. looks almost as good as yours, welding with a nice welder is such a good feeling. Super nice repairs!
Serious amount of work in that video and it can’t be easy working under it with it on the ground. I did a bit of work on a car but to the extent u have done here. A few things I found great were galvafroid paint which is high zinc for rust prevention. Seam sealer on top of welds before spraying or painting. Weld through primer as well. Good luck and enjoy Gordon
That's alot of work,ln AU we are not aloud to weld the chassis unless we go to a professional who can sign it of. Your lucky you have that clerk of works supervising the weld jobs,he looks like his a real pro.
Hello from Colorado, usa. I've come across your channel recently, and have hearly watched every video/episode you've put out. I love your story telling through your various series. Thanks for letting us follow along your talent. You have easily gotten yourself another subscriber from the other side of globe, thanks to your very real and enjoyable style. Can't wait for your next release. Ofcoarse, my sincere condolances about Laddie. Hope you are fairing well.
Thank you very much for the kind words and for subscribing. I really appreciate the time you have taken to watch my videos and thankfully enjoy them! Plenty more to come on the channel that’s for sure. That’s very kind of you, I miss Laddie very much but I will cherish our memories forever and he will still be on those adventures across the rainbow bridge! Thank you once again for your kindness ☺️
I use CAD (cardboard assisted design) whenever I make patches or something to fit an existing piece. It saves material and time and makes sure you get a good fit. Looking good.
Sorry to hear about Laddie, he was a star in his own right and devoted to you! Fabulous video and I love Cornwall too likewise it’s well over 400 miles away from me too. Don’t know if you seen the Lost Cause Ranch videos from the US. Joe might give you some new ideas as he rescues Landrovers that have sat in fields for decades, in fact anything Land Rover at all. He does like fitting a V8 into the odd one too. Like you he is a very talented fabricator and even make his own custom exhaust systems from scratch. He also has a supervisor called Sasha who doesn’t like the cold. Looking forward to your next video and the excellent work.
WOW, you welding is great I thought i did OK but your is way better, guess I need more practice, but then I would have to buy a land rover as they rust like hell :).
The Tank was at the Ashchurch camp by Tewksbury, nice drive through the Cotswolds but Iv been stuck by that bloody tank soooooo many times on my commute down the M5 Great job as always , sorry about your dog , mine went years ago and I still miss her How’s the Aston Martin job going, still enjoying it ?
Brilliant video💯👍 Love my landrover's boat unfortunately but unfortunately I have got a Suzuki Jimmy at the mall Suzuki Jimmy at the moment it does me to get me to work it does mean to get me to work and actually at add in snow It does better than my defender that I used to have
i am a firm believer if ya gonna do it do it once and thats it body off take it to the blaster get it painted up properly fill it full of rust proofing inside that chassis and jobs a goodun ,i got one blasted and galvanised original 32 year old chassis never seen a welder in its life ex army ,got another one back from the faulklands same again never seen a welder off to blasters again and this one was painted ongoing project when i can be arsed lol
Totally get that and I usually do the same, which is why my build diaries are so long! In this instance, I wanted the 110 on the road for a little while before doing a full resto as I currently have a few projects on the go etc 🙂
Land Rovers a brilliant concept badly executed, so many chances to get it right over the years all lost due to expediency. Galvanic corrosion easily prevented but sadly ignored.
