I love your channel, but this is a favorite! As a petite hourglass, I feel like I've been surrounded by boxy, oversized shapes this year. It's nice to see the defined waists that look best on me! You really look fantastic here. I'll stay the course, and keep wearing the styles that flatter my shape.

As a Certified Bra Fitter for 19 years I appreciate you mentioning having well fitting bra. They are called foundations for a reason...they are the foundation of our wardrobes. OBTW...the sweetheart neckline beige top and pink skirt are the bomb 💣

😊Bless your heart. Love your humor. 🗣No matter what they say to the contrary, there's truly NO perfect shape. They all have pros👍 & cons👎. There are many hourglass types like myself who would gladly swap 🔁 places.
😮💭Always dreamed about runway model proportions... tall, slim, & straight ⏸️. No excessive curves. Legs for days. Clothes seem to drape so beautifully on the column frame.
🤔Thinking those extra 3" would only s-t-r-e-t-c-h my more voluptuous (not currently obese) ↔️ physique (bones, flesh, curves & muscles) more pleasingly vertical ↕️. Although at 5'7" (+ higher in heels👠), it was already tricky enough finding suitors 👤 who surpassed my height.
Also need 💪brawny men like my late 6'2" father & brother in order to avoid feeling so super-sized😖. Enjoy bold 🎖Napoleon types &
🤓sweet intellectual metrosexuals, but neither seem to put my lush femininity in balance⚖️.
It's taken forever to become more comfortable w/my breasts.
🧲They've been magnets for drawing 🐺negativity😼 from both sexes🚻. Now, thrilled to wear a graphic tee now & again. It makes me 😁smile & laugh about giving others a reason to STARE👁👁 at my chest. I've always been 💯% happier drawing attention away from my flat backside & XW hips too. Sadly, the latter remains my achilles heel😔.
🤫Whole-hearted acceptance remains a struggle. Trying to 🛑stop wasting time⏳️ wishing to be something I'm not〰️& appreciating the things I am. At my age〰️ embracing health, resillence, strength, stability, & mobility〰️ are all key🗝 things. My being able to build muscle quickly is actually something to celebrate 🎉!
      🕊Blessings!

I enjoyed this video. I have a similar body shape and am also athletic so I appreciate these tips. As you said, we are all individual- I love a boat neck top and detailing at the top like a on military styled jacket. I would love to try a jumpsuit someday but so far, the few I have tried are too short waisted. Thanks again.

Another helpful video Silvana. Thank you for clarifying that body shapes may deviate and aren't exact- merely a guideline.

😊Silvana: you look brilliant in black🖤. ✔️The two LBDs & the collared jumpsuit were perfection👍!
🤍Loved the nipped in denim jacket & jeans👖 too. ↕️ That continuous color ALWAYS creates such a lovely lean, long column. Brava👏🏻!
🤔 You're one of the first stylists to point out the big variations in bodies in each basic category. ↔️ Shape can be like a spectrum from the beautifully subtle hourglass like yourself🤗 to those like myself😳 w/an extreme tiny waist & voluptuous proportions⏳️. Some styling rules within this category cross over between them, while others don't. 😬It's not always a case of one style suiting all. Other times, it's worth being rebellious & flouting the rules.
🚢 I personally love🤍 a marinières or boatneck. I like that it draws 👁👁focus up ⬆️ to shoulders & neck w/o revealing any cleavage.
❤️‍🔥Adore high halternecks & racer back tops for the same reasons. 🤨No strapless or thin spaghetti straps for me...unless I'm sporting a body-con crew neck underneath them.
My tank style tops & dresses require wider straps to conceal bra straps & also balance ⚖️ the visual heft of weighty breasts.
🤫Dislike V-necks like me??? Find another way to create that inverted triangle🔻. Try a statement necklace in that same configuration. Or, layer delicate chains w/the longest one having a simple elegant pendant to create the "V" shape.🧣A scarf can do it too.
😉Your belted white single breasted blazer creates✌️ two slimming triangle impressions above AND below the belt. Yay🎉!
😘I also come from 🎬old school Hollywood where censors🧐 approved bombshells like Kim Novak in a turtleneck that looked painted on her shapely va-va-voom form. She also wore a wonder bra that lifted, separated, & showcased the girls.
🙂I liked the flowy earth toned ensemble w/the wide sash that you ❌️'d off🥺. Showing off a whittled waist is a requirement for me〰️but it's also a blessing & a curse. Not obese, but I already skew fat w/large breasts & wide hips. If I do NOT cinch in the center, I just look like an even bigger blob😂.
Of course, by virtue of highlighting my middle, it puts 🤪attention on my breasts & hips🤣. There's NO escaping the contrast. That's why an ⬅️open➡️ topper layer (waistcoat, gilet, shacket, blazer, cape, etc.) is my saving grace🦸‍♀️. The front gap in any these garments will frame my figure nicely & create a vertical line ⏸️ or triangle🔻 impression that's also slimming. That's particularly pleasing & effective when done in continuous color.
🤓I find a topper also helps dial down ⬇️ the overall drama of my shape while allowing a peek-a-boo👀 hint of my exaggerated curves below👍.
🚫 Bulky or boxy oversized, but I can rock a longer, straight, relaxed fit jacket. If the point is to show off your layers (or body), you just have to remember to size down⬇️. Or, you must gather any excess volume of your topper in the back. That can be accomplished w/a belt loops & a sash🎀, double clips attached by a chain &/or elastic, & more).

This is great information. It's really all about the silhouette, especially for the hourglass. I wish I could wear those slouchy oversized shapes but they make me look frumpy lumpy dumpy. knowing what not to wear is almost more important than knowing what to wear!

Love how you addressed in the beginning that hourglass takes different forms. I just subscribed. I have looked at a lot of videos and was so confused, but this has cleared up so many of the questions. I recognize now why I like certain things and certain ones just look off.

I wish I was richer so I could afford getting custom tailored clothing. The struggle with my body is, im 5ft tall, hourglass shape (31,26,31), short mid, longer legs, fuller butt, smaller chest. Its almost impossible to find any top or dress that singes on the right place. “Short” blazers still look long on me and most clothes that do fit me can be found in the teens section so good luck finding an actual design that does look age appropriate. 🥲
