You know, I like how the movie found a clever way to explain how the raven could be Maleficent's informant if it couldn't talk: he couldn't really speak to her unless he was a man.
I have zero complaints about human Diaval, but if Maleficent, a powerful fairy who curaed a babe her entire life and can control the nature, needed a crow to inform her, couldn't she just put a spell on him so he could talk? Again, I like human Diaval, but let's be real, was it necessary?
That "Oh." Was such a "My ex moved on did he? " Damn he really missed out. What an magnificent place that kingdom would've been if Maleficent had been Queen, or for that matter, Aurora's blood mother.
It seems that Maleficent Had her heart turned into stone because Stefan had a child with the Queen. She doesn't care about the loss of her wings anymore, but she cares more of what she'll do to get her broken heart back.Complex feelings of a fairy, loss of her precious wings, then the loss of the one she loved.HOW WONDERFUL.
@@SirKolass - but it would be cool of they could become a couple and switch up Diaval's role where he isnt subservient. He needs more time and a bigger role in these movies.
I really love this side of Jolie. This badass dark side of her is gorgeous and more than a little sexy. Fantastic job by this warrior woman. I totally ship her and Diaval by the way😊
Have you considered watching foxfire? It’s my top favorite of her movies, except there’s a bit of exposure...so if you’re uncomfortable with that sort of thing then don’t watch but the whole storyline is so amazing and Angelina with a short hairstyle like that is EVERYTHING 😝😂
Mostly everyone here in the comments are falling in love at Diaval. And here i am ANGELINA JOLIE DID A PERFECT ACTING ON THIS MOVIE AND IDK IM SPEECHLESS
In the original cartoon, Maleficent is a real villain. In the live action film, some people say Maleficent is a sort of neutral(*neither complete villain nor complete hero).
No, she raises his daughter because her spell says Aurora will be "loved by all who meet her." That includes her. Snared by her own spell. Plus, I think she would have loved Aurora anyway, she has the intelligence to know that Aurora is not her father, and is not responsible for what her father did.
She crashes the Christening with a bad gift of a jealous curse (insert evil laughter here) Which backfires bc she's blessed. How's that for a plot twist! ;-)
2024 anyone? No? Just me? Alright... This scene reminds me of a deleted scene from Disney's animation movie, Lion King 2 in which Zira's cubs, Nuka and Vitani run to their mother, telling her that Simba's cub is a girl.
maybe it depends on the mindset of the king..if the king wishes then I don't think anyone can stop it from happening...I guess...I'm not sure though...
Well, Henry VIII actually did have a big celebration at the birth of Princess Mary, his daughter by Catherine of Aragon. Mind you, most of the congratulatory toasts followed the theme "A healthy baby girl means a son will soon follow!" But he apparently doted on the baby princess. Shame she grew up to be Bloody Mary.
Even if a monarch is purely self-centered and focused on his own position, a daughter is still useful because you can marry her off to build connections and alliances with other kingdoms. So yeah, good chance the birth would still be celebrated.
This always confused me about this movie how is maleficent aurora‘s mother when the other woman the queen has a baby…? I’m confused by this. It doesn’t explain it in the movie and yet Aurora says to maleficent later in the movie you are my mother.???!!!
Not necessarily. Having a few spare princesses on hand was always good for future alliances, and if the baby girl was healthy it was regarded as a good sign that the mother would go on to bear healthy boys. For example, contrary to movie depictions, Henry VIII wasn't mad at all when Anne Boleyn gave birth to Elizabeth; he merely held the baby on his knee for a bit, commented that she was "hale and hearty," then said "now, by God's grace, sons shall follow." The important thing was that Anne had fallen pregnant easily (within a month of bedding Henry) and borne a healthy baby without any difficulty .
I loved that Diaval still hadn't mastered his landing yet as human-its a nice touch!

She still loves the man after all these years. Otherwise she wouldn’t have raised his daughter as her own for more than 16 years.
You would think that's the case, and then she murders him at the end of the movie. So probably not
No, she raises his daughter because her spell says Aurora will be "loved by all who meet her." That includes her. Snared by her own spell. Plus, I think she would have loved Aurora anyway, she has the intelligence to know that Aurora is not her father, and is not responsible for what her father did.
That's bullshit, taking care of the girl has nothing to do with loving him...
Did Maleficent curse / save herself by cursing the Aurora. Actually, she blessed the sleeping beauty and then cursed out of revenge.
more like she realized the child shouldn't bear the consequence for the mistake her father did
