Are these used as an actual sewing thimble? When I did a "search", they are showing up as Japanese jewelry. Leaving me somewhat perplexed. I was excited to think I could actually make myself a custom fit thimble.

These were originally used by temari makers as a thimble, i also understand they were used by kimono makers. They tended to have more simple designs. Today, Japanese artists make wonderful complex pieces that work so well as jewellery, which ensures the careful stitching isn't ruined. There is no reason why you can not use them as a thimble.

Hi Gina may I ask how many millimetres apart are the lines for pattern marking?

Ours are about 5mm. However, different patterns can have different spacing - it's all up to the pattern designer. The way the srip is angled is the real key.

Well, there is the pattern. How is the pattern used. Lines drawn but for no spparent purpose.

Hello, this is a product support video showing how to make the base, using my Yubinuki kit (available on my website). The kit has 3 patterns in it. I also have a second video, showing how to work the basic covering stitch, which you will find here - th-cam.com/video/bpDgUm1nLnM/w-d-xo.html

@@GinaBSilkworks TH-cam algorithms sent me to other channels and stores yesterday. I assumed that one can innovate unless they wish to follow tradition. It was merely surprising that the video just left new viewers hanging.

Should have used a dark background.

The light background makes it difficult to see.

No I'm right handed. I can do some things with my left hand, but less as I get older :)
