The Too Faced Peach setting spray did that to me. I returned it bc it did it every time!! People in the comments told me to shake it harder but you can’t shake it any harder than I did!! 😂 And honestly, one shouldn’t have to vigorously shake a product to the point of sweating! Lol!! So frustrating!!

Anita Blaze any powder based/mattifying setting spray you risk the powder specks, unfortunately. Milani has an excellent setting spray. Soap and Glory one heck of a blot primer is a god sent for oily skin.
Your reviews are so useful. I recently ordered the Prep and Prime radiance primer and the water weight foundation on your recs and I am loving them. I feel like most youtubers ignore MAC and it's a pity because they have some great stuff. It's just such a big range to navigate without some expert help.

I have combo skin; and tried the matte Fix Plus...it made my skin look actually shiny, it was the craziest thing...I returned it with a quickness....interesting I noticed that the top on this Fix Plus does screw off, unlike the regular Fix Plus. I didn't get the little dots you got.
No excuse MAC!! I am super oily, not even combo just O. I. L. Y!!! But even the elf $6 mattifying spray with the powder in it doesn't leave the dots on your face!!!! My fav is the Too Faced Peach Mist, which also has powder in it, but doesn't leave dots!!!! No. Ex. Cuse. MAC!!!

I really enjoyed the matte fix+ and I bought the skin refined zone because you suggested it and I must say it really does keep my oil away longer than usual.
Sweety, such a great video. Here’s a little trick….I LOOOOOVE the matte fix plus. It’s more about pushing down the button than shaking it. The mist has to be super fine so you gotta press really hard. As it says, there’s powder in the formular. It’s the same with the OG FIX+… when you don’t press hard enough you’re only getting drops on your face. And if you might get one or two drops on your face, just dab your finger on those a little so it doesn’t dry down to a white spot. Hugz

You should totally take that spray to a hardware store and have them use one of the paint shakers. Whether or not it helps doesn’t matter, but it would be entertaining. 😉
Thank for such a great, thorough review. I had thought the Mac Matte fix + sounded great but no way! I have combo skin but if I'm going to be outside, I can get more oily. No way anyone will want that with all the dots over the face!

Maybe you got a bad one? I’ve been using the Matte Fix + since its launch with no problems. I do use it as an afternoon pick me up to refresh my combo skin.
I didn't have that problem with the spray. I loved the spray. But will check it out next time I use it. Now for a mattifying primer stick I'm loving the one by Smashbox. My favorite setting spray is either the Bridal or Oil Control by Skindinavia.

Maybe try that new fix plus before foundation and press in with BB 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I like the YSL blur over foundation and the MILK blur stick under foundation I have mature, dehydrated, normal to dry with oily t-zone... I know that a lot lol
I got the same issue with the Charcoal matte setting spray the first time i use it! Now, i have to shake it very very hard, spray not to close of my face...and it works ! Sorry for my english but i hope you understand! Très joli make up ;)
Oh wow those white dots...I thought when you first mentioned them they would only be visible if you were really, really close. They are huge! LOL That's a huge oversight on MAC's part.

I went on a MAC spree and picked up the Matte Fix + and.... 😍. The brow shape and tint marker thingy...😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️ Goooorl!! I love it. Got a couple of pigments, brushes, single shadows, and brow backup. Too much shopping.
Heather H. I didn’t realize it was double ended until I got home and pulled it off by accident. It does give hair-like strokes. It’s a nice product IMO. I do have naturally full brows, so it’s not high maintenance.

Hi Mel, I liked the MAC side with the pore refiner just as well as well if not better than the other side of Tarte. What the heck with all the white dots?? Why fix it if it is not broke. Regular MAC Fix + is perfect. Quite an ordeal to try to get off all that glitter. You could see the pores in the up-close view. Curious...is the consistency of the MAC pore refiner about that of their lip treatment. It kind of reminded me of that with the exception of the size. Thanks for reviewing these products and have a good therapy session!
The white dots look like the beauty bakerie foundation when it gets wet but that didnt happen to me when I used mine, I'm sorry it didnt work out for you because it really is a good setting spray.

Concerning the white dots, I had the exact same problem with Too Faced Peach Mist spray. I shook it until my arm was tired but no go, I was still covered in dots...and you can't blend them if they dry at all. Perhaps it's the powder content in the product.
I read a review of the fix plus matte on instagram and someone said they had the same problem when the shaked it, but when they didn’t shake it there was no dots.

I'm combo too I usually use Becca first light priming filter primer ( I got it half off from Ulta a while ago) and Loreal magic perfecting base on my tzone/ pores. The Becca smells amazing and is pretty hydrating but I don't notice it doing the rest it claims to and the Loreal does minimize my pores and mattify but after a few hours my pores are big again . I really wanna try the tarte one u use. I feel like I have the same kind of skin u do pretty much so I value ur input! Those white dots were probably the powder in it I guess but it shouldn't do that, that was crazy!
The cover FX mattifying spray does the Same thing. That one has a ball inside to help shake the "powder" but I still get those white Mark. It drives me crazy. I think maybe these products are make for extremely oily skin
Uh oh I just ordered this from MAC for 25% off. I have the same skin type as yours oily in the T zone. My mature under eyes can't take anything that makes them look drier.I'll give it a go but those white dots are annoying. That lip stick is so pretty!

As for that matte primer spray it's so unfortunate that it did that white dot thing happened to you because I ran out and got the matte primer spray and it is absolutely phenomenal sometimes to the point where it sucks the life out of my skin all together but then again I am "Team Oily T Zone" lol but I never had the white dot issue myself and as far as that primer goes I didn't know that it was a rerelease and I'm thinking maybe they did reformulate it because that also works phenomenally on my skin but then again everybody skin type is different.Like I said love your videos sorry that this collection didn't work for you Beautiful 😊

As for that matte primer spray it's so unfortunate that it did that white dot thing happened to you because I ran out and got the matte primer spray and it is absolutely phenomenal sometimes to the point where it sucks the life out of my skin all together but then again I am "Team Oily T Zone" lol but I never had the white dot issue myself and as far as that primer goes I didn't know that it was a rerelease and I'm thinking maybe they did reformulate it because that also works phenomenally on my skin but then again everybody skin type is different.Like I said love your videos sorry that this collection didn't work for you Beautiful 😊
What are your thoughts on the Mineralize time check lotion vs these products for blurring pores and texture?
whoa! it looks like your makeup is completely waterproof and the liquids are sitting on top of that skin on that side...uggghhh....NO! Thanks for reviewing it. And yes, I can see a clear difference between the pore stick and the Tarte primer...you're right it is more smoothing even on camera.

The dot thing happened to me with the Too Faced peach mist mattifying spray. They simply don’t work.
Thanks for showing us how bad this spray actually works. Most of us would have been in a mess trying to get dressed and out the door quickly.

It happened to me too, the white dots so what I do now and it works is I spray on the air what’s on the tube/spray before I spray on my face
I'm almost out of my powders and I see you have been using the Hourglass to set. Which do you think is better using the LaMer to set or the Hourglass, and which is your favorite to buff the Houglass or the Sisley. I have skin very similar to you. Thanks!
I like the hourglass over the la mer to set but I like the sisley over the hourglass to buff :)
