Don't know anything about this Ian guy, but he still has time to change. I remember when Mac Miller was nothing more than a Frat bro rapper with a couple of good songs I liked. He even leaned more into that style of rap right before his first album. Then started experimenting with his music, and likely experimenting with some substances, that he really showed his chops for both rapping and producing. Now he's one of the most beloved and remembered artists of his generation.
Very insightful, and I agree with you! Because Ian is so young I didn’t go that crazy on him because he is a kid, but that is the great thing is that he has time to change if he decides to, but if he does continue this trend into adult hood It would be really crazy for hip-hop. He has a lot of influence and he should use it a little bit better but I do agree with everything you said, including with Mac Miller one of the greatest we ever had in hip-hop 💯🔥

Appreciate you brother! Definitely don’t want people to just fully agree if they don’t agree with me, but it’s hard to not when you brought up the biggest point. He’s literally trying to save hip-hop and that’s the first thing I took from it so I know there’s an issue if that message is not being given to younger fans who are taking it the wrong way. 💯
Maybe they’re doing it on purpose, but I hope they are not because most of those same younger fans who are calling him old head love his music at least most of them in my opinion. There’s just no way, especially after I went to the Kendrick concert in June. So many young kids going crazy for the goat 🐐 💯
Me personally as(someone who is tryna find his sound) I would rather make music for memories instead of the moment

I think that’s why I agree with Tyler on rappers like Ian and even Lil Yachty in the beginning of his career who just came in have fun and not really appreciate the art that they are giving to the fans that they have. If you have a huge platform in our blessed to have a big audience in music, I think it’s important to have some care in the craft of your music. No mac & cheese 🧀 💯😂

She always schooled me 😂 the original female artist is Kim Hill who had a very close friendship with the other band members, including will.i.am but unfortunately, she was pressured by the industry to be more sexualized, and that was not her way of making it to the top. Much respect to her she has an incredible voice. 💯❤️❤️

🔥🔥🔥 Valid! As a music junkie, an old school b-girl, and Gen X'er, I've never cared about the personal lives of my favorite artists. It's always been about the music AND the lyrics because that's how hip-hop started for me in the 80's. I also am more into full bodies of work over a hot single but hell, these days, if the first 3 seconds don't sound good, they're calling it trash and I just don't understand that at all! 😂

I love to entertain, but I didn’t want Tyler’s message to get swept under the rug just because a bunch of younger hip-hop fans want to be sensitive and not really hear his actual perspective that’s valid. ANTONIO! You just like me forreal! We're the same age and I've been a day 1 OF fan with the tumblr fan blog and everything! I grew up with Tyler in a way and he's definitely impacted my view of my blackness as I related to him being a suburban black kid who didn't see myself in a lot of black media but loved it anyways.
I don’t know why the fact that you’re 28 was so surprising to me given I’m the same age and more often than not, I’m on the same page as you with your takes.
I feel old already, but we are definitely not ❤😂 we are at the perfect time of our lives where we can really appreciate music honestly so I think that’s why we probably have similar viewpoints. For me, Call Me If You Get Lost is just a complete cohesive album where I can literally play from beginning to end at the gym or in my car when I’m on road trips. It’s flower boy at 2 then and wolf number 3 for me, but I have to revisit Wolf It’s been a while. 💯

It’s not about him being 15 years old and trying to find his way. It’s the fact that Ian literally does not care about the art of music which is what Tyler is mentioning. 🔥
I get why it’s not a huge issue but if you love music the way that Tyler, The Creator does and how he respects the foundation of hip-hop. It’s very easy to understand why he’s upset with Ian profiting off of hip-hop when he really doesn’t care about the music aspect more about his own money bag. 💰 💯
But he is 15 so hopefully when he becomes an adult, he’ll learn to respect the craft more because he has plenty of time to develop into a great artist.
