The Last Wish in the World - a short story by Year 3/4 pupils at Headlands Primary School (York)

This story was created by 90 Year 3/4 pupils during a one day visit to the school. An initial 30 minute session with the whole year group explored, through drama, the creation of a story setting. Classes were set writing tasks. Three one hour workshops then allowed the pupils to develop their own imagined characters and to consider description and dialogue. Ideas were refined through role play with the aim of consolidating their understanding of the use of conjunctions, adverbs, prepositions and fronted adverbials.
