This is such a beautiful history, this also show the good side of the Asante Empire as they always gave back the people their lands and those people in their captivity. In my opinion I think the Bono people later on relied on Kwame Nkrumah so much and nowadays politicians thinking they can change things for them, but these politicians keep lying to them

When did Bono come and when did Asante come? Bono kingdom was the first established in the 12 century. Asante kingdom (500 yrs later) in the 17 century, Bono kingdom was where all other Akans migrated to form other states. Bono is the ancestral home of all Akans. It’s about time to recognise Techiman as the capital of Akans.

The narrator comes with 50% truth and 50% fabrications. No one can twist history because we all came to meet the truth of the matter.
Bonohene Kwakye Ameyaw never believed the war will happen, he had a thought that, the Bonoman is so big(three times bigger than Asanteman at then) and no being/warriors could ever conquer it. One of the prince(s) of Bonoman called Boyemprisi even consoled Bonohene that there would be no such calamity to fall on Bonoman, so the rituals and directions of Tano wasn't fully honoured. And the fact is, Bonohene Kwakye Ameyaw never believed Asantehene Opoku Ware would attack him because of the cordial relationship that existed between them. However, Opoku Ware fully prepared for the war together with Okomfo Anokye and waged the war against Bonohene unexpectedly. Asantes pounced on Bonohene one evening, when Bonos surprisedly heard a gunshot afar from the outskirt of Bonomanso and this led to the defeat of Bonoman. This act is always considered by the Bonos as treacherous. After the war, most of the Bono intelligentsia was taken to Kumasi to teach Asantes the way of Akan culture/life. For instance, Bono blacksmith, weavers, musicians, drummers, dancers etc were taken as captive to Kumasi. The Ashantis then carried the heir Bono queenmother Dwamena Akenten and the heir king(which they thought he was Kwakye Ameyaw but was not) to Kumasi singing we have caught the great king. There are more to this history...
The truth regarding Gyaman and Asante war.
The golden stool of Gyamanhene Nana Kwadwo Agyeman Adinkra was superior and meaningful than that of the Asantehene. So it was a threat to Asantehene and irritated him. So he decided to wage a war against Gyamanhene.
So in February 1818, Asantehene Osei Tutu Asibey Bonsu organised 80,000 troops of warriors and set them off.
They initially fought Adinkra's troops on the river banks of Tain, Adinkra wounded and killed several men(troops) of Asante and reverberated rest of the troops. Later Bantamahene Amankwatia the spearhead of the Asante army reorganized the rest of his troops and with the support of Juabehene, Kokofuhene, and the chief of Akyem Bosome called Koragye Ampaw rekindled their troops and fought back.
When Adinkra realized his troops were falling, he ordered his members of council, and wife Kra Adwoa to hide the stool regalia, and committed suicide later. So no one ever killed Nana Kwadwo Agyeman Adinkra, it was impossible.
It was Adinkra's son Appau who was captured and taken to Kumasi, he was tortured to show the whereabout of his father. Appau just to end those pains and tribulations, directed the Asante troops to a heaps of dead bodies mounted elsewhere.
Asantes then forced Appau to teach them the symbolism and meaning of Adinkra symbols (thus his fathers symbols).
    In a nutshell:
    1. Tano the great god serves Bono and Bonos are also proud for that.
    2. With respect to Bidabiakyi umbrella, asides the Bonos, everyone knows the meaning of it. It was even introduced by Bonohene Akumfi Ameyaw II in 1650s, it symbolizes power(Power of Bono), so where from the lies/misinterpretation? Asante was nowhere to be found at then.
    3. If Asantes want god, they should create one for themselves or go back to their home Mossi in Burkina Faso and get one.

@Miller Kevin Superior of Akans? Good. Know that Bono is not Akan but Akan is Bono. So if you are superior of Akans , Akan is subset of Bono. The earlier you know this, the better for you and your Asante imperialism. Kingdoms come and go and so if Bonomanso collapsed, it is not an exception just like the British collapsed Asante kingdom in 1900.
Now, I asked the question, WHAT IS THE COMPOSITION OF BONO AND THAT OF ASHANTI?
Asante is a union of states - nothing special about it.
Bono and for that matter it's sub-Akan groups are more or less blood related.
That defines a typical akan tribe.
Bono will forever leave just like Egypt will forever leave. You can't talk of any culture and traditions in Akan lands without Bono - that is the superiority.
Asantehene's dressing, Kente, adinkra, drums (fontonfrom and atunpan, the king's sword) the Golden stool alot? That makes Bono the superior one not your destructive wars.
