I met a guy at city walk who graduated the RA program but was playing music at Margaritaville. Yup, I wasnt going to let that happen to me. Graduated the film program, Full sail wrote an article about me, then busted my butt, now im traveling the world shooting content for Coca-Cola.

@nightcore bro - If you want to further your education, go to a respectable university. Even if you have to attend a community college to improve your grades. Unless you receive at least a 50% in scholarships and grants at these for profit universities, it is much better especially today to attend a distinguished university. But if you go that route, do it with confidence. And if your grades are really good and you just completed being a sophomore, use your guidance counselors and start sending your transcripts ASAP. I have a friend who wanted to attend the University of Florida 4 months before graduation. And I knew she wouldn't be accepted because to attend a university like that, she needed to show interest around at the time she was a sophomore or junior. Part of it is her fault, and her counselors. Overall, it happens that way to most of us. Either way, that's the best advice I can share.

Freshman year was right around 17k and I got 15k in grants and according on how well you do your grants will continue to carry over for following year and if you get qualified for scholarship it pays the rest. So your basically going for free if you dedicate yourself and keep good gpa. It's basically up to you. Fuck off and end up owing the school or dedicate yourself and make yourself a future. But I’d say if you’re not sure about what you want in life then Full Sail isn’t for you solely based on the fact that you shouldn’t spend that much money on a guess. Yeap that’s basically what he’s saying. Full sail Univerisity is awesome I haven’t started yet and the people there have been nothing but patient with me in helping me get started. They’re awesome I went to the behind the scenes tour and I had an amazing time! If anyone is planning to attend I recommend to go to the Behind the scenes tours that they have. If you’re not passionate to go here, than you shouldn’t go here. And they help you if you don’t have the money. Like my first time applying I had wrote three essays and I had never written an essay in my life, and I got offered 3 scholarships. I think 2 was worth $3,000 and one was worth $2,000. The staff and admissions they are soo nice they will literally help you into making your transition as smooth as possible. And if you can’t start right away, they will not rush you, they will even push your start date back to a later date . I talk to admissions all the time. They’re literally the nicest people.
I’m about to graduate from Full Sail in June and I’m so excited! I’ve been on and off with college for so long now, but with Full Sail I felt so passionate and loved the classes. So happy I made the decision to go there!

The first 4 months will be some reflective classes to help you learn some basic knowledge that you will need later down the line for your degree and the 5th month is when you start your classes for learning your degree. I say go for it! If your determined and ready to make a brighter future for yourself, then i don't think you can choose a better school.

I really see everything here as positives. If you’re thinking about going to collage for a career that you want to do and you feel that these things are negatives, then you should rethink your path. Everything here should be big positives if it’s something you really love doing, if these points make you feel like not going then you probably don’t love the subject as much as you think you do.

I have to agree, I attended FS in the Masters program (2010-2012) for Video Game Production. I had hoped to get a little more involved in the production myself, but, for me it was more of watching others work, while managing the project. Yes, you learn a boatload of info about the industry, and yes, getting a job is all about what you want in the industry, because the varieties are huge. I went to FS with the expectation of working hard in school on a daily basis, and not wasting time and money. It was a great experience, and going to GDC was the topper for me.

Do know that it's possible to learn all of the information they provide on your own but will take you much longer and you'll have to figure out what is BS and what is legit by trial and error. Other than that I love Full Sail and everything they've provided for me. I impress my self and my friends quite regularly with how much I've improved since I started attending classes. I had already been learning the audio engineering side of the production on my own for a couple of years so I actually have before and afters. Love this, love Full Sail. The hard work absolutely pays off, but you HAVE to be hungry. So many kids run through treating it like any other college and it's simply not that. They will elevate you, but you have to first invest the time and effort - into your work, your relationships with peers, faculty, and staff, etc.. If you can do that, this place will inspire you and feel like home - especially when you're surrounded by other amazing, innovative creatives!

They let anyone in, take their money, chew 'em and spit em out. It's not a literal scam, they at least give you **something** in return for the money. But considering you are paying rates that you would only see at an Ivy (without any financial aid), then it's not worth it at all.

Honestly true. I graduated FS in 2018, and I’ve been fortunate to work on set because of all the networking I did. So thanks to that I’m working on feature productions right now. Not to mention all the equipment we can learn to use there
Full Sail have numerous grants - example, I'm a 51 year old grandmother, divorced, nurse of 15 years now want to follow my own dreams. Full Sail gave me a $25,000 grant to put towards what Federal aid /grants did not cover. So far I only had to use $2,000 of it. I start in 2 weeks. What a blessing!!! My son will start next August for art and animation. Thank you Full Sail!!!!
People who are giving bad reviews didn’t succeed and relied on the school vs put in the work it aint about what you know it’s about who you know that goes for any school and any field you are in, you can have all the degrees in the world don’t mean anything with out work behind it

Hearing this...I’m so disappointed...what I needed in my life was to have a successful job the college gave me after graduating, but they don’t do that apparently...I hope they change it, engineering has been my dream since I was 5, im 11 now and I still wanna be an engineer, I really hope they change it
bruh you still got 8-9 years depending on if you take a gap year. dont sweat it, learn as much as you can from youtube, forums and all different places on the web for now. youre still so young so you have nothing to worry about. they could change in the future or possibly a better school will come along.
I agree with Kobe that you got a while before you have to worry. Enjoy being a kid for a while. One thing you’re going to learn is that unless the college wants to hire you personally, then they’re not going to get the job for you. You can make connections and they can help you along the way, but going out and getting a job will be completely up to you my friend.
I'm currently in Full Sail now chasing my BFA. On track to graduating in '23. Bussing my ass to maintain my gpa which is a 3.3 currently. I will become a screenwriter. Anything that's worth it will pay off with hard work and dedication. Pell Grants and Finacial Aide is available as well student loans. I'm enjoying my time.

My two high school friends graduated from full sail one music one film ... I was so jealous at the time I visited them in Florida they rented a house , but they were each like 80K in student debts from loans ....but at the time they were living large like going to Best Buy and buying video games and whatever they wanted ...in the end both of them have worked in the industry but it never really took off for them ...they did learn a lot ... but in the end The loans are killing them, sucks

Fullsail is great to be honest lol depending on what you wanna do. They even tell you these programs need super dedication and they even tell you its not all about networking they do in fact help you find a job after getting out its also part of attending this is from my experience.

For me I was one of alumni for film program, and I'm still work as sports broadcasting station in Korea. Probably most of you guys just felt this school is bullshit but this school can show up various sorts of experience about our industry. Hopely wanna you guys just stand and walk along then you guys gonna stand your industry.
Every college makes profit, they just also get money from the gov. Every art school cost $$$. Get good grades to earn scholarships, make sure you're going into a career thats worth it. It all comes down to how serious you are. If you're dabbling with the idea, or not sure what you want from college, go to a traditional school. If you're ready to do what it takes to get into your dream career field (6hrs/ day on classwork plus spending some of your down time learning extra tricks, working on your craft, and networking) then go for it.
I enjoy networking with lots of people, and in number 4, you might be right that I might not afford to pay Full Sail back if in a near future study in this university. But I enjoy networking
All you're saying that Full Sail is an awesome place to prepare you for your future. One doesn't go to college to party. Is to work. I'm from the Las Vegas Market, I'm retired now, but I'll tell those that are reading this... When some friends and I drove to Strands Dance Studio for a Tour Audition, I was walking for an empty spot, and another Dancer rushed and cut me off for the spot. The spot was in front of the Auditors Table. What I did was a big contributing factor to getting the Tour. I stepped to the line in back, and continued on. The Director sitting at the Table saw it, the Tour Manager saw it, the Choreographer saw it. After the rehearsals and the soft and hard opening happened, the Director told me, that when he saw how I handled the dancer, he felt that even if I were a weak dancer, he would not cut me, because you don't see that type of grace, Especially at an L.A. Audition". That was my first L A. Audition. So always always always, go the "grace route" because, you build relationships with quality people..
Took 1 year break after high school. Now I'm going to attend a community college to get my feet on the ground and I'm looking into colleges for music production. I keep seeing mixed reviews on Full Sail. People say it's a waste and others say it's helped them a lot in the field. I'd love to work for Republic Records, so I think I might keep looking.
you can party at full sail if you're a recording arts student if you're in game develop good luck with that lol but I party a lot the first year and a half and still made valedictorian. Not saying it's easy but I also went to another school to get a certificate so I already had prior knowledge. It's all about time management, because you will get stressed out if you do not get out and live a little outside of school. NETWORK IS A MAJOR KEY

The first 4 months will be some reflective classes to help you learn some basic knowledge that you will need later down the line for your degree and the 5th month is when you start your classes for learning your degree. I say go for it! If your determined and ready to make a brighter future for yourself, then i don't think you can choose a better school.

I really see everything here as positives.
If you’re thinking about going to collage for a career that you want to do and you feel that these things are negatives, then you should rethink your path. Everything here should be big positives if it’s something you really love doing, if these points make you feel like not going then you probably don’t love the subject as much as you think you do.
I dont want to be party on the weekend nor do I care about dorms, I'm in highschool right now and all I love doing is extracurricular clubs and stuff, honestly sounds like a great place for people like me

Good to see this Henry. Right on, man. I did the MFA online , be prepared to WORK, but as a writer, I’m now doing things I could never have approached before. The KEY I think is working with Industry Professionals. HIGHLY recommend the writing program. LIFE CHANGING. LOVE this school and Top Notch administration , attitude , teachers. GO FOR IT.
Hi. Did you study their Creative Writing programme by any chance? May I ask, what was the job search after graduation like? Were you able to land a position in the first couple of months? I've heard some people say that the employability after graduation is very poor.
I have to agree, I attended FS in the Masters program (2010-2012) for Video Game Production. I had hoped to get a little more involved in the production myself, but, for me it was more of watching others work, while managing the project. Yes, you learn a boatload of info about the industry, and yes, getting a job is all about what you want in the industry, because the varieties are huge. I went to FS with the expectation of working hard in school on a daily basis, and not wasting time and money. It was a great experience, and going to GDC was the topper for me.
Based on what your apartment looks like, life is going really well for you. keep up whatever you're doing man.

@@allenaswanson2252 Honestly the school is so upfront about everything that I havent had any surprises. Do know that it's possible to learn all of the information they provide on your own but will take you much longer and you'll have to figure out what is BS and what is legit by trial and error. Other than that I love Full Sail and everything they've provided for me. I impress my self and my friends quite regularly with how much I've improved since I started attending classes. I had already been learning the audio engineering side of the production on my own for a couple of years so I actually have before and afters. Love this, love Full Sail. The hard work absolutely pays off, but you HAVE to be hungry. So many kids run through treating it like any other college and it's simply not that. They will elevate you, but you have to first invest the time and effort - into your work, your relationships with peers, faculty, and staff, etc.. If you can do that, this place will inspire you and feel like home - especially when you're surrounded by other amazing, innovative creatives!

It's not a literal scam, they at least give you **something** in return for the money. But considering you are paying rates that you would only see at an Ivy (without any financial aid), then it's not worth it at all.

Honestly true. I graduated FS in 2018, and I’ve been fortunate to work on set because of all the networking I did. So thanks to that I’m working on feature productions right now. Not to mention all the equipment we can learn to use there

Full Sail have numerous grants - example, I'm a 51 year old grandmother, divorced, nurse of 15 years now want to follow my own dreams. Full Sail gave me a $25,000 grant to put towards what Federal aid /grants did not cover. So far I only had to use $2,000 of it. I start in 2 weeks. What a blessing!!! My son will start next August for art and animation. Thank you Full Sail!!!!

Man, full sail was my dream, living i Florida chilling by the beach, having a successful job. Hearing this...I’m so disappointed...what I needed in my life was to have a successful job the college gave me after graduating, but they don’t do that apparently...I hope they change it, engineering has been my dream since I was 5, im 11 now and I still wanna be an engineer, I really hope they change it
bruh you still got 8-9 years depending on if you take a gap year. dont sweat it, learn as much as you can from youtube, forums and all different places on the web for now. youre still so young so you have nothing to worry about. they could change in the future or possibly a better school will come along.
I agree with Kobe that you got a while before you have to worry. Enjoy being a kid for a while. One thing you’re going to learn is that unless the college wants to hire you personally, then they’re not going to get the job for you. You can make connections and they can help you along the way, but going out and getting a job will be completely up to you my friend.
I'm currently in Full Sail now chasing my BFA. On track to graduating in '23. Bussing my ass to maintain my gpa which is a 3.3 currently. I will become a screenwriter. Anything that's worth it will pay off with hard work and dedication. Pell Grants and Finacial Aide is available as well student loans. I'm enjoying my time.

My two high school friends graduated from full sail one music one film ... I was so jealous at the time I visited them in Florida they rented a house , but they were each like 80K in student debts from loans ....but at the time they were living large like going to Best Buy and buying video games and whatever they wanted ...in the end both of them have worked in the industry but it never really took off for them ...they did learn a lot ... but in the end The loans are killing them, sucks

Ive been involved in my film classes since freshman year and I really enjoy it. ive read a lot of bad reviews about people dropping out due to failing and im honestly scared. ive also heard that the professors don't take their jobs seriously. but they could be rumors so I really don't know the truth.

Fullsail is great to be honest lol depending on what you wanna do. They even tell you these programs need super dedication and they even tell you its not all about networking they do in fact help you find a job after getting out its also part of attending this is from my experience.

Currently I just got out the army i was in for 5 years spent my first year in south korea so all that partying for me is out the window, not to mention i'm 26 as well lmaoo. I'm ready to start school and get my BS in Digital Art & design :) i have not evevn set foot on campus and the adimissions team as well as the Veterans Admissions team has already made this feel like a comfortable transistion for me.

If you wanna be career driven and succeed in life, you got to everything accelerated. I passed out in 2019 and I had the time of my life. I graduated with the Game Arts degree and I can tell you I drank, partied as well as networked a lot with people to get y connections big up. I REALLY ENJOYED MY EXPERIENCE and IT WAS THE BEST!!!
If you join Full Sail, you need one major thing and you need to be prepared for this, "TIME MANAGEMENT".

I’m attending mainly to grow the skill-set to better my career, and also to network with other students who are serious about growing into music. I want to be able to build my music on my own, from the ground up. This program is the best fit for hungry musicians.
For me I was one of alumni for film program, and I'm still work as sports broadcasting station in Korea. Probably most of you guys just felt this school is bullshit but this school can show up various sorts of experience about our industry. Hopely wanna you guys just stand and walk along then you guys gonna stand your industry.

Every college makes profit, they just also get money from the gov. Every art school cost $$$. Get good grades to earn scholarships, make sure you're going into a career thats worth it.
It all comes down to how serious you are. If you're dabbling with the idea, or not sure what you want from college, go to a traditional school.
If you're ready to do what it takes to get into your dream career field (6hrs/ day on classwork plus spending some of your down time learning extra tricks, working on your craft, and networking) then go for it.
I enjoy networking with lots of people, and in number 4, you might be right that I might not afford to pay Full Sail back if in a near future study in this university. But I enjoy networking

All you're saying that Full Sail is an awesome place to prepare you for your future. One doesn't go to college to party. Is to work. To start working as a professional in preparation for what is coming to your life. Competition: if you want to succeed, you need to compete and the best way to do that is by working hard. And that's what you're getting there. If I had the opportunity, I would go there.

I'm from the Las Vegas Market, I'm retired now, but I'll tell those that are reading this... When some friends and I drove to Strands Dance Studio for a Tour Audition, I was walking for an empty spot, and another Dancer rushed and cut me off for the spot. The spot was in front of the Auditors Table. What I did was a big contributing factor to getting the Tour. I stepped to the line in back, and continued on. The Director sitting at the Table saw it, the Tour Manager saw it, the Choreographer saw it. After the rehearsals and the soft and hard opening happened, the Director told me, that when he saw how I handled the dancer, he felt that even if I were a weak dancer, he would not cut me, because you don't see that type of grace, Especially at an L.A. Audition". That was my first L A. Audition. So always always always, go the "grace route" because, you build relationships with quality people..

Took 1 year break after high school. Now I'm going to attend a community college to get my feet on the ground and I'm looking into colleges for music production. I keep seeing mixed reviews on Full Sail. People say it's a waste and others say it's helped them a lot in the field. I'd love to work for Republic Records, so I think I might keep looking.

you can party at full sail if you're a recording arts student if you're in game develop good luck with that lol but I party a lot the first year and a half and still made valedictorian. Not saying it's easy but I also went to another school to get a certificate so I already had prior knowledge. It's all about time management, because you will get stressed out if you do not get out and live a little outside of school. NETWORK IS A MAJOR KEY
