To be honest 85% debt to gdp is a very big, need to reduce debt level to 40-30%, best example Russia, Brunei, Poland, more debt more stress on the economy
But yes this current Stable Govt can achieve in coming future if everything stays in a right way
are you dumb these countries have major infrastructure and massive tax brackets(60%) , they have huge tax paying population to back those major policy
85% debt to GDP ratio is not bad for a developing country because lots of new projects need debts to grow faster
80% of India's debt is domestic, so it's not that bad
I hope that the government uses these loans wisely and pay them as early as possible.

India ka debt to GDP bhi bahut kharab hai, jab apki per capita income sirf $2500 hi hai lekin apki debt to gdp 85% jo ki bahut jyada hai. Ise ghata ke 68-70% tak lana chahiye. Agle 2-3 salon me hume apna debt to gdp ko reduce karke 71-72% tak lana hoga.

NK Singh committee had recommended for 60% debt to GDP ratio for govt.(combined) and for the centre it must be 40% and for state it must be 20%

Another important factor is debt servicing ratio. Since India is a high interest country, so the factor is not very favourable for india. The reason for this is that India's credit rating has not improved and as we say is biased against India .
