Just a thumbs up for MITUTOYO TOOLS, I’ve been a buyer for the U.S. Govn. for the past 20 years… Our fabrication shops demand only the best, as do our machinist… MITUTOYO and KBC are my “Go To” source for precision measurement equipment… the SR 71, U2 and F-117 are all flying today because of MITUTOYO!
@Ecclesiasticus I would like to nominate this post for the "True Internet Statement Of The Month" award. I'd also like to introduce the new "True Internet Statement Of The Month" award for this purpose.
@@cyoung4290 The SR-71 is my favorite bird. An acquaintance had a video tape his friend at Lockheed gave him after it was declassified. Then it got reclassified and two men in black suits knocked on his door demanding the tape back. I can neither confirm nor deny that the tape showed the "camera bay" doors open and released a cruise missile...from an unarmed reconnaissance only aircraft.
THANK YOU MITUTOYO!!!! You could not have picked a more deserving person. When America sees how happy this makes a diehard Starrett fan they will know how great Mitutoyo is. I am 73 years old and began my machinist background in high school back in 1964 and I have always preferred Mitutoyo over Starrett. Art from Ohio
Mr. Pete...again...You deserve everything from Mitutoyo and the way you have changed the world of "Machine Shop" and the vast knowledge you share with us. You are without a doubt the world renowned "TH-cam Shop Teacher" ....no bragging...straight forward and down to earth...stand up guy, we tune in each week for. Stay healthy and keep it coming. I have Starrett and Mitutoyo and love them both.
What a great gift from Mitutoyo. I bought my first 1" Mitutoyo micrometer back in the early 1970's when I was working in a machine shop at a G.M. plant (Vauxhall Motors) in the U.K. The other older guys in the shop were using "Moore and Wright" tools etc and said, what's that Japanese rubbish you've bought. I still have that micrometer, complete with it's tungsten anvils and use it regularly. I am now approaching my 80th birthday. I would love to see a tour of their U.S. H.Q.
I can think of no one more deserving of such a kind gesture than you Mr. Pete. My hat is off to Mitutoyo for showing their appreciation for all you do for the machining community, and I believe it will pay them back in new customers for years to come. I have some of their tools already and love them, this gift to you cements my belief that Mitutoyo is a fine company! Congrats Mr. Pete on your new tools and thanks for all you do for us!
Mrpete, you will always be my original youtube shop teacher, i started watching you when i was a highschool kid back in 2009. You got me into machining.
Holy SMOKES that a haul of Mitutoyo!!! I never get tired of seeing your tools! I SAY....... "YEA who dies with the most TOOLS WINS!!" Thumbs up EVERY TIME from me! Thanks for the videos!
What a wonderful gift for you Lyle. Mitutuoyo tools are very well made, I have a set of Micrometers, 0 to 4" in a box that was given to me about 10 years ago.
Mr. Pete, I can't thank you enough for the great information you share. I've watched countless numbers of your videos, and I have found each one informative. Thank you for the effort you put in to being my internet shop teacher!
If I view a You Tube video I feel obligated to give it a thumbs up. It is a gesture to thank the creator for the effort made in producing, and sharing it.
Congratulations, I am envious but you deserve every bit of it. I also enjoyed your enthusiasm while showing them as well as your gratitude, very genuine.
Happier then a kid at Christmas! I guess the Japanese do truly venerate their oldsters. Thanks for showing your good fortune, it sorta rubs off on us a bit, and a big YES to a video tour! Still, gotta say that the tools & stuff from Japan in the 50's & early 60's sure didn't show their future.
Hello mr Pete all the years of teaching and machining. You have very well deserve those Those are very nice indeed And i love the box holding those items. See ya next time. Larry
That is an awesome and well deserved gift. When I need to measure to .0001” I use my Mitutoyo micrometers the most. I really like my satin chrome ones no chipped paint ever.
Didn't see it as bragging at all. Anyone would be excited to show off such a great gift! Thank you for all of the information and knowledge you have passed along over the years!
My Dad was the first Mitutoyo dealer in Colorado and then I got to meet the president of Mitutoyo. He gave a tie clasp shape like a micrometer and 50+ years later I still love it!
Wow, what a nice haul of beautiful tools. Now we get to learn more about Mitutoyo through Mr Pete. Beware of identical looking knockoffs on the market. I ordered what I thought was a genuine Mitutoyo digital caliper at a good price. Alas, it was a fake. The colors, printing and logo were not quite as crisp and the battery compartment was all wrong. I complained to eBay and returned it for a full refund. Let the buyer beware.
Good morning Lyle, Excellent surprise to have on your porch. Here in California, the porch pirates would have beat you to it. Like others have said, it’s always fun to get toys. I think you should go to the Mitutoyo facility. It would be interesting to see how they address the Chinese knock-off products flooding the market and how to tell the difference. It’s time for a road trip. Have a good day and stay hydrated.
That was nice of them. They treated me like absolute (censored) when my 1980s era 12" dial caliper died. No parts, no service, no help, just 'your out of luck'. ...but they DID offer me a coupon to buy a new one from them for MORE than I can buy one online from a verified dealer. Now I wish I had bought a Starret back in the day instead... they still fix what they made. I really want to like Mitutoyo, but the inability to repair, and no referrals to a private shop, left a bad taste. I may buy a cheap used 4" from the same series to get the internal gear parts and try to fix it myself.
I can't think of anyone more deserving, congratulations. I believe Mitutoyo chose well. I have learned so much from watching your channel. A trip to U.S Headquarters would be nice to see .
A few years ago I decided that I wanted to buy the best set of dial calipers on the market. I did some research and the Brown & Sharpe's (sold as Tesa/Etalon too) were supposedly the 'Cadillac' of dial calipers so I bought their best set. After a few days I returned them because they felt 'cheap' and sloppy after using them. After that, I bought a higher-end set of Mitutoyo calipers and they are smooth as butter! The Japanese are excellent tool makers.
I usually don’t like these giveaway tool videos, cheap advertising opportunity for tool companies. But I’m glad you got them, you deserve to get some nice stuff for all you do. I’ve recently picked up some vintage Mitutoyo instruments from yard sales, and at an auction where I bought out some Kennedy machinist toolboxes. Perfectly good stuff.
I have a Mitutoyo digital caliper, a micrometer (mm) for everyday use. I like the quality of the tools. Great post, it’s not bragging, it’s info. All my older tools are mainly Starrett, which I like and use, but I like having Mitutoyo for the easy way to switch between mm and. inch.
Not bragging at all Mr Pete. After all the years you have put in teaching and passing along your hard won wisdom, I am tickled to see Mitutoyo recognize your contributions.
That's a nice haul Mitutoyo provided you, Mr. Pete. I wasn't very happy when the QC manger at work started buying "that cheap Japanese junk". Oh boy was I proven wrong. They make excellent tools. I'm still more comfortable with the feel of Starrett, probably because that's what I cut my teeth on.
Mitutoyo makes fine tools, I own an abundance of this brand. I split my board pretty evenly between, Mitutoyo, Starrett and Brown and Sharpe. Each manufacturer out does their competitors on specific models and styles when you factor in finish, function, cost and availability. Throw in Noga for their indicator holders and shop aids and you probably don't need to shop very deeply into other brands to happily outfit your shop. There are other fine makers, but these three brands are my go tos for reasons already described.
doggone Mr. pete for many years, you've been my favorite machine shop instructor along with adam booth of course and keith Fenner. I always thought you were a diehard l s Starrett fan, though to give the devil his due,Mituttoyo tools are of excellent high quality also.
I'm glad you mentioned buying from a distributor, I've read of counterfeits being sold on Amazon (probably ebay too). And yes, please give us a tour of HQ.
I like Mitutoyo tools, I have many micrometers, calipers, and indicators. I like the digital calipers I've been using them for almost 40 years. I would like to see the US headquarters Aurora, Il does Wayne and Garth work for them..
I've had that exact same set with the wooden box for a number of years. That was a really nice gift. (the perfect father's day gift) You might ask the Mitutoyo rep about the difference in the paint color of some items. I wondered if they might have a different color for the US and made in Japan tools.
It's not bragging. Anyone would be excited if a load of toys shows up on your doorstep. You earned it. Your yt channel is a joy
Yes, let's go to the U.S. Headquarters.
YES!
He'd better get a commitment on a tee shirt. No tee shirt no show!
Japanese tools are always amazing because their culture shows pride in work instead of parades.

Shill Shill Shill 😉. Congrats on the new toys Mr Pete you do and have done so much for the community at large so you are very deserving 👍
The orange Mitutoyo boxes are the man's version of the blue Tiffany's box.
That and old Starrett boxes lol.
You'd love the warehouse then!

Well deserved, Mr. Pete.
I would not have found my second love ( machining, that is ) at the age of 73, without ya !!
God's blessings.
Wow! That was really nice of them to send a care package of epic proportions to you. You deserve it Mr. Pete!

If you're not buying off an authorized retailer odds are it is counterfeit.
I like Mitutoyo tools, I have many micrometers, calipers, and indicators. I like the digital calipers I've been using them for almost 40 years.
I would like to see the US headquarters
Aurora, Il does Wayne and Garth work for them..
You should get a bag carrier for that visit. I would like to volunteer! Another good video.
Heck of a gift from Mitutoyo. Make the trip to the NA headquarters, I'd like to see that.
Thoroughly enjoyed this broadcast.
How cool they gave you all those new gauges! I like the wood case, I would love to replace the all my Mitutoyo plastic cases.
I greatly value my Mitutoyo micrometers. Some of them I have had for 30+ years
From Europe, Yes sir we can stand with you on that !! One of the world's most reliable tool and instrument brands.
Wonderful stuff Mr T.
Amazing, generous gift! Made me smile!
You are much appreciated here in England, Derek
Thank you, Derek
Looking forward to seeing the Starrett goodie box ! 😁
Wonderful haul Mr. Pete. I received a mitutoyo hat when I reached out to them. I would be elated to have seen such a big box on my porch.
