Recommended Weighted-vest: amzn.to/3Cz21LT Hey everyone, sorry this one was a bit late, but the day I was recording it I start getting sick and ended with a nasty case of COVID-19... Still recovering but doing ok. I think you can clearly see my sickly COVID skin complexion in the video 😄
I love the practical common sense advice you give! I often fall into the trap of doing too many things, even if I’m not fully ready to add more stress/intensity
hi 2elvin, happy to hear that! Don't worry about over-complicating things in the beginning, everyone does it as a beginner but also for years later. Having gone through these mistakes myself I do my best to help people avoid them :) . Once again, happy to hear you're enjoying the content!
I think the test of 14 clean pull-ups and 20 dips is the best deal-maker (or breaker) when considering a vest. Anything less would have the vest collecting dust.
@@BodyweightMuscle hey there. Funny enough I bought a weighted vest a while back. Used it a few times and left it. Found it was to intense at the time. Was thinking of going back to it, but I find that each time my recovery is harder and I get injured. Seems as if it is to much and I should just stick to body weight. Would be great to see for which exercises you use it for? Btw- I’ve incorporated a different method to increase intensity. So on my last set of push-ups I’ll complete the set and then immediately continue to knee push-ups until failure. Seems as if the extra variation on the end set takes the exercise to the max and helps to stimulate muscle growth a bit more . I could be wrong though 😊 just trying things out
Thanks for the great free content. Hope you make a speedy recovery. Coincidently I've got covid at the moment. Any advice on exercise post illness? I've just been walking and stretching
Hi Andrew, thank you for your wishes. Well, it really depends since post-covid fatigue can vary so much from person to person. Personally, I started with walk and stretching (like you) after day five. But even that left be feeling fatigued and often caused me nasty headaches. My recommendation is to start with easy exercises and work away from failure, and keep volume low (two sets per exercise are enough) during your first week of training. Here's how my training sessions looked after covid: On day 10 I gave my first workout a try, just two rounds of pull, push, lower body and core. I focused on the easiest exercises I could do: rows, push-ups, wall-sits, and plank. I definitely felt weaker, but other than that not bad during the rest of the day. So on day 11 I got ahead of my self and did some sprints. Not a good idea since I looked pale, felt weak, and got a nasty headache for the rest of the day again! Today is day 12 and after having an easy workout this morning (similar with day 10) I felt pretty good during the rest of the day. Strength and especially explosiveness and speed are still not 100%, but I'm getting there :)
I workout at home but i was thinking about buying a weighted vest as i noticed that plates costs a lot (around 4 euro/kg), and with a weighted vest you can't do push ups or squat as well.
What I love about you Anthony is your lack of plugs to companies you could probably get royalties from, advertising equipment etc to try to sell us. Instead you stay true to your routes to workout as much possible from a minimalist point of view, to benefit us and with options if we are ready to progress - I have worked out with Anthony for one year and this guy is the real deal and is as genuine as he comes across on his videos. From the knowledge you have given me I know I’ve got plenty of methods to utilise my own bodyweight in a variety of challenging ways before I consider a weighted vest. Good topic, that will hopefully answer for a few that have asked in the bootcamp. P.s. Hope you are feeling better P.p.s ☠️ 🦥
I used to use a backpack with 15 kg so a weighted vest would be much better as it spreads the weight more proportionally and won't cause injuries,I do work out at home and for exercises I don't need it I will just take it off
Not so fast! First, 300 lbs. of what (what's your composition?). My guess you're not a steroid cheating bodybuilder. But 300 ain't crazy for 6'5". You can walk right? If not I'll give you other options. A vest csn speed things up for you. Start walking. Build up to 3 miles at any pace (you can stop and take rest if need be). Once you can cover the full 3 miles at any pace, but w/out rest start trying to cover it faster. When you can cover the 3 miles in 40 or less minutes get a vest put 2.5 in the vest everytime you make 3 miles in 40 or less minutes. Want to take it to an elite level reach out I'll tell ya how.
@@oldnatty61 thanks, Im built different lol, at 20 I was 17% at 290lbs. I'm 51 and still lift, eat clean, count calories and 2700 calories maintain my weight. Going much lower and sleep gets bad. I know every trick in the book but when I can't sleep it's not worth it. Thanks for your tips.
@@oldnatty61 I prefer to trust Anthony for his recommendation to buy the Spartan Shadow weighted vest (which is also much more beautiful and less expensive). I trust Anthony and his reliability.

I've been doing calitshenics for a while and I'm actually looking for a weighted vest to buy!
Your video is perfect Anthony!

Great video. Can’t wait for part two

Anthony, how much is worth happiness?.
Ask yourself that when you're talking about an activity that makes you feel fulfilled and happy.
Well, when it comes to calisthenics... it's priceless! 💪

At 6'5 300 I'll wait.
That's called a natural weight vest.
True :D

Bought my weighted vest already, too late, i'll use it to look cool
:D haha, why not!
First 🥇🏆

😂 For the number of people, your last question could probably be the first one to be asked.
Yeah, maybe I should have started with that one, good point :D !
You should do a video on how to wear a weighted vest and not look like a terrorist..
Hahah, I actually went into a supermarket once in a weighted vest (I had just finished rucking). The cashier looked at me a bit alarmed 😂
