I agree with the comments here. The thing with Aespa is that they're performing just like any other music show, so there's nothing special with their performances for the award shows. I felt disappointed and underwhelmed with their performance for the AAA Awards too. I thought maybe they were too busy to prepare a special stage, but I don't know if that was the case. It was just a normal performance, but it's not the girl's fault. SM needs to do more for the girls and let them deliver a special stage. This performance is just like for a music show, and for this award show they should have done more and better.

Probably not all of their vocals are live but they’re definitely singing for some of the parts. Some of the notes are slightly different from the audio track. Plus winters voice doesn’t “growl” in the second pre chorus which is on the audio track.

Silence, Aespa fans just found out they don't sing live.
I loved their debut but their fans acting like idiots saying "they're so stable omg" and pretending they were actually singing on TV distanced me from them. Good look trying to pretend it wasn't a playback too, maybe they feel so nervous they can only sing in recorded performances? They're great and the girls are funny, but they aren't big as people painted and it started to show up.
I'm MY and I'm very well aware of fact they don't sing live and I have no problem admitting something isn't live, because I know they're extremely talented. They shared their studio recording, had 2 encore stages,sang on variety shows and they even sang live during fan calls. Therefore I can't blame them for not singing live but SM entertainment. As well as really poor stage for an event like this. However I can blame them for lack of stage presence here, they can do way better. I do understand that everything is probably still overwhelming for them and they are probably aware this wasn't preformance for awards show but they need to do better. Hopefully both girls and SM entertainment will do better and show why they're this big.

it's not only SMs fault that this stage wasn't that great... Blackpink also used to have really simple award stages with no props, no backup dancers or cool stage design. But they saved the performances with their amazing stage presence.

Same thing happened with twice and encores, they got the hate of their life because they weren't singing that well in more&more era. After the years, although they probably have a lot of trauma (you can see them have PTSD flashbacks everytime they win an award and have to do an encore :((( ) they improved so so much and now their encores are amazing.
I'm disappointed with SM. Why didn't they give aespa special stage just for their first MAMA...

Please don't hate me but this performance definitely does not live up to Aespa's hype. No backup dancers plus lip syncing and almost to none stage presence?
