    Thanks for the video John, it was a big help. My son bought a JD blade for his riding mower, the instructions weren't much help. A local JD dealership wanted $300 to assemble this blade for him. Well that wasn't happening, thanks to a few you tube videos, I got it together. Only problem here in Delaware the weather has been in the 50's and 60's for January. If we don't get any snow, my 20 year old son will not be happy! Great Video!

      John, as I pointed out, I used to write installation manuals & I still had difficulty following JD's! So, glad I could help! Here in Missouri, our weather varies all over the place & some Winters I don't even put it on, whereas this Winter, I have already. So, watch what you wish for? Thanks, for your kind comments!

    I dodged a bullet on this arrangement. I ordered and received a plow kit for my e180, after realizing that several bolts were missing from the kit, returned it. In retrospect, knowing what I know now about the e180, it’s a fantastic 25HP mower that mows like a champ and has tons of power, more then it needs really but is anything but a push blade tractor, it’s so light and with a 12 gauge stamped frame and light duty transaxle, I’m certain that the missing hardware was a blessing, as it prevented me from ending the life of the transaxle way before it’s time.

    • @harrison4803
      @harrison4803  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had no problem with the trans and it is 17 yrs. old. But to each his own? Here is my latest video of installing it, if interested:

    Ive had this same 130 series mower with no blade for about 14 years now. I also have a nice Craftsman snowblower that is over 20 years old that runs like its brand new. The only problem is the snowblower doesn't do good against the the 2 or 3 foot piles the township piles at the end of my driveway when its wet and heavy.
    Im just curious if you have had to use your set up with the tractor and blade to push say 12-24 inches of wet snow and how well it does it do?
    Ive thought about adding a blade to my mower but id only really use it for slushy and heavy wet snowfalls. Or when the township plows go by amd put huge piles infront of the driveway. Your thoughts.

    I am thinking about putting this on my JD D110 but it is expensive new plus tire chains and wheel weights. I also don't know how long the tranny will hold up as it is a hydro. Right now I use my old Craftsman with manual tranny but shifting and raising the plow is killing my shoulder joint replacement.

      Jeremy, I left the mower deck on to provide weight. I also put two 10lb. weights under the seat. Regular weights on the back would be best but I am too cheap to buy them yet. My tires have some tread on them, which is important.

      At about 9:00 I indicate that I got 4 extra locknuts. Read down through the comments. One guy had 2 left hitch plates & HD sent him a right one. Some had a few bolts missing, also. So there are some issues. Some of the bolts, nuts, etc. probably are common parts. HD seems to be very receptive to replacing parts but it will take time. In general, it seems no major parts are missing for the most part. But this is based on a limited survey.

    So you don’t have to remove the deck to use the snow blade? Also, i have gravel that is pretty much flattened down. Would it work on that?

    • @harrison4803
      @harrison4803  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric, I think it would work on gravel. You set the little sled-like things (can't remember the name) off the ground to protect the blade so they will drag in the gravel a little bit. I leave my deck on for extra traction but I don't have any weights & my tires don't have much tread. The deck will get wet but a lot of people get their decks wet when they wash the grass off of their decks anyway.
