This video was so helpful :) I'm an Oxford student who was accepted for History and I'm trying to switch to History and Politics. Nonetheless, with this video alone, you’ve actually made me look forward to preparing for it! Could you tell me the name of the app you used to learn the 18 times tables with?

The impression I have is that typically the writing section carries less weight as it is assessed more subjectively. I would still allocate some time to prepare for it though.
Hey Katherine, setting aside around 5 hours every week I think is more than sufficient. Of course, the more practice you can do the better prepared you will be.

I have a question regarding when you first started practicing for TSA section 1, did you time yourself straight from the first practice material or paper you did or do you recommend doing a few days of prep without time constraints to get used to the question style? I have noticed everyone says do under timed conditions always and it does make sense but as a beginner ,I find that I spend a bit long on questions leaving me with last few questions unanswered under timed conditions as a beginner. Another question I have is ,do you recommend practice on the actual past papers first or do a few questions from a TSA practice book like the one you showed? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks so much! My recommendation would be to start out with 1-2 papers untimed just to get a feel of the question type. Then work through a practice question book, taking a past paper every now and then. I think it is important to do as much practice as possible under time pressure, as this is the real challenge of the TSA. Any questions you do not complete in time, return to after the papers ended. Do not worry, with practice, you will get more comfortable working at speed.

Do you think that in the essay, its okay to give two arguments in favour of a point, and one argument against? I find that this is as much as I can write in an essay, but I'm worried that it makes my essays unbalanced?
This sounds like it should be fine. Including a strong argument against demonstrates that you are able to critically reflect on your arguments. Good luck!
Hi, apologies for the late comment. I was wondering what score I ought to aiming towards if I am applying to E&M, since this only requires section 1. Was the target score you provided a percentage out of 50?

It cannot be longer than 2 sides of A4. Otherwise, content is much more important than length.

Pretty sure you should be aiming for over 35 in order to stand a good chance of getting an interview
