Yeah i thought it was a fun idea to try out and it worked better than expected! When i was looking at deck to do when genn and baku came back i was like why would anyone ever try it but was like i think they changed how totems worked so i tested it!
@@Nautlocke_Vt It would be cool if Shaman specifically could get its upgraded hero power for little cost, maybe as a payoff for a small package of cards that could be worth it in a slow deck
I'm amazed we didnt see totem shaman in perils Tiki Totems would have been PERFECT with the theme. The custom legendary I would make that synergizes with the basic totem would be something like 6 mana battlecry: summon totems with the combine stats(and keywords) of ALL basic totems u've summoned this game
@@Nautlocke_Vt I don't like Perils in Paradise since the flavour is all over the place also due to the Tourist mechanic. They could have gone for surfing totems, tiki totems, murlocs, treasure hunts.. but of all the things, they went for random nagas and an archetype that doesn't even exist for Shaman, while the class is struggling Meanwhile they pushed already top tier archetypes like handbuff Paladin and pain Warlock. I wouldn't be surprised if the strongest Shaman deck could be Elemental Shaman with Lamplighter and the Eruption legendary dude. Token Shaman has potential since it can already reach Legend as of now and we're probably going to see token supports with DH since there's the new parachute patches (turn 1 patches, turn 2 Cactus Cutter draw a parachute). Control/Highlander/Rainbow Naga Shaman, whichever will be the functioning version, might actually be cool but everyone got new tools to play with as well
They tried to do rainbow Naga Shaman back in Voyage to the Sunken City it just never did anything. I'm expecting the best Shaman list to be carried by the cookie tourist OR Eruption Legendary + Shudderblock. I'm also kindof curious if the reason they are pushing Naga's is due to their relation to resto shaman artifact in WoW during legion probably naut but u never know. Weirdly also we seen like 2 murlocs? The entire set? The only other class left that has had murlocs in the past is DH SO maybe explains the murloc tourist for shaman? Its just weird that we havnt seen more given the theme. I think the theme is fun & fixes a lot of issue people had where a theme would be introduced in one set then abandoned in the next NONE of the classes so far has a package that doesnt interact with some preexisting cards in rotation right now

Very interesting deck, Odd Shaman was always very hard to justify but it also feels right that you get to optimize the totem play every turn
