Ignoring rape as a crime is certainly shocking. But the most shocking thing I find about islam is that it considers killing another human being (a kafur) to be an act of worship. The koran states that the best muslims are those who fight and kill kafurs, and that they will go immediately to the highest paradise after their death. There is a hadith where a questioner asks mohammed, "What is the best deed?" "To become a muslim." "And next?" "To engage in holy war for allah." We have seen in recent decades many, many jihadis killing kafurs as an act of worship. Most recently there was the hamas member who beheaded a Jewish civilian with a shovel while shouting 'allahu akbar'. The reason I find this shocking is that it is akin to human sacrifice. Human sacrifice is an iconic act of satanism. And yet, in 1400 years, no muslims have called this out. So, while they are saying they oppose satan, they are in fact honoring and praising scriptures that sanction satanic acts of worship. Of course, not all muslims perform these acts; many have too much humanity to do so. But, every muslim who goes to the mosque gives their approval of the scriptures that condone these actions by entering the mosque.

Indeed, victims of rape do get the lashes. If they try to say who raped them - well, it's word against word, and a woman's word counts half... So the men go free, no lashes. Nobody claim Al-Quran have very detail, but surely it is complete. That's why we refer Prophet explaination in Al-Quran like how been told in hadis.
