- During the 19th century Ullanlinna was dominated by summer pavilions owned by the wealthy Helsinki middle-classes. The appearance of the area changed gradually at the end of the 19th century as the wooden houses were replaced with much higher stone buildings, designed in the prevailing Jugendstil architectural style synonymous with National Romanticism.
Punavuori was traditionally a working-class neighbourhood, today it is known as a bohemian district popular among artists, students and hipsters. The area has large concentration of museums, art galleries, local design shops, antique markets, theatres, and other landmarks within the art and design scene.
Eira is located south from the city centre. The neighbourhood has some of the most expensive and sought-after old apartments in Helsinki, built in jugend style. Many foreign embassies and high-class restaurants are situated in Eira.

Hei! Katsellaankin Tää.😮❤
I really love those neighbourhoods! One of the days when I was in Helsinki I had a walk exactly in Ullanlinna, Eira, Punavuori and then towards the railway station and Kaisaniemi! Very beautiful and interesting architecture around! It was amazing walk and when you finished it at the front of the railway station I realised that the same day ( 2nd May) few hours earlier I was there:)) Always nice to see Helsinki, and especially after my visit it is even more enjoyable to watch it!
Nice to know that the place met the expectations :) One of the most impressive architecture in Helsinki in my opinion.
