That’s just a result of hard cornering while keeping hard power on. Underpowered vehicle with light flexible bodies do this check out old school BTCC races or Spec Miata racing it is very common, and is just a result of hard cornering with a low power car because you are on the throttle for most of the corner setting the weight to the opposite tyre of the front inside tyre so it would all be on the outside rear. FWD cars lift the inside rear tyre. In karting you can get the inside rear tyre almost 4 inches off the ground in some corners(this is because it’s a solid axle and lifting the rear inside tyre acts like you differential you would have on a car meaning you don’t scrub the inside tyre. But this only relates to go karts and cars with solid rear axles that are RWD) Essentially it’s just a result of being a fast driver same with the “slip angle utilization runs” they are techniques. Just a result of being a good driver and being fast.
Gutter riding is a legit thing and pretty badass because you can significantly exceed the tyre grip levels but also need to be aware of how to control the exit, you will be going to fast fit the tyres or if you aren’t it’s not much use in using it in the first place. It’s like like a train with tyres on rails you can basically go as fast as you want but soon as you come off you are limited by what the tyres grip is, it will also shock the tyres when you exit unless you are very smooth which will reduce grip.
@@thebigboy-fr9bg it’s not that simple at all. It’s different for each car. And it’s not just about accelerating in fact it can have nothing to do with acceleration. It can be simply under hard cornering but is easier to accomplish under acceleration. On top of that if you have a stiff car don’t attempt it you need a car with soft suspension.
I've used it in my old 06 ford taurus. Dug it into a dirt gutter with a solid 1in drop off the side of the tarmac. 60kmh through that corner over the tire's normal limit of about 45kmh. Yes both methods (These were cheap ass tires so I didn't care if I ruined them, drove that car like a rally car)
I've used this on horizon 2 , but in a diferent way. I put half car on the dirt, so that half will be in " rally mode" and I can make out of the corner with throttle cornering
Well it depends heavily on the type of corner you are guttering aswell, some of them arent really efficient because you can suffer from snap oversteering while exiting a corner on really sharp hairpins for example

Honestly I've never tried to set good times on Akina. I much prefer other touges but just used it for this vid because the gutters are good on it. Maybe I'll have to make a video trying to set a fast time on it!
the explanation is very good, but theres Akina Version, that is accurate to the anime in the touge union server, it has alot of gutters, and also bigger
it is fine on this road but what if Tarragona in Spain? Goddamn, I could not even imagine if a rally driver did a gutter run in Tarragona because it is so deep and will hug the car so badly until you did not realized there is a rock in front of you

@@TSRB damm, may I suggest the takumi tune version? It’s the exact same 86 but with 12k rpm to play around with. It’s very fast and it’s easier to do slip angle and touge with

Rally technique unless the co driver says “don’t cut”. Most the cuts are lower height on the inside, they get deeper with every passing car.
I think the second gutter run is called the exit gutter run used by bunta and takumi. For Takumi, he uses to catch up Ryosuke.
Finally, a very clear visualisation of the difference between the two gutter techniques.
awesome vid, it would be cool if you covered inner wheel lift some day hurhuhrur

And suspension in general, especially bearings.
This technique works on a few games I play IV done it successfully on wreckfest, grand turismo sport, the crew 2, and need for speed heat.
Its like listening to bunta explaining stuff, but without mistery lol
Really great video, clear explanations and good visuals
Are you running the natural mod post processing filter in game?
Thanks! Yeah, I am
Great video as always!
Cheers!
Don't drive a Miata when you do this.
“if an 86 can do it so can my car!” *flips car over*

TIme to apply this to My summer car
Time to apply this to my car, see you guys in a bit!

Yo, you should use the Initial D arcade, Akina, for gutters. In my opinion, the gutters are better there.
They're tricky to use but they rae better once you know how to use them.
I'll check it out. Although, I do prefer the realism Assetto offers. Where can you get the game?
