Looks like the Animeme channel had over 1 million subscribers in October 2019 according to the Wayback machine. I checked Socialblade first and saw they'd been steadily declining. Couldn't see sub history that far back on Socialblade though.
I'm not proud of it, but the second boss baby appeared on screen I broke into tears. I physically cannot explain the levels of satire, cringe, and irony that bounce off of each other like a sunbeam caught in a hall of mirrors that makes it so indescribably funny to me. Honestly, Animeme was a really fun part of my teenage years (when I was still stupid). The rap battles, especially Old Spice man vs Dos Equis man, were hilarious.

I'm technically old enough, but my family didn't get internet at home until 2006 when I was 15. That's why I'm a big fan of the videos Whang does. He's about four years older, so he can explain the stuff I was familiar with but missed out on experiencing.
Red Minus and Brock Baker are both very talented and have easily transcended their work on these meme channels in other places, with superior work that didn't reach as many views. I don't blame them for dumbing down and trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator for views. It's definitely not my style. I remember watching some animeme and yo mamma jokes and felt happy that it would probably make the creators some money, as it's hard to make a living on art.

I'm not proud of it, but the second boss baby appeared on screen I broke into tears. I physically cannot explain the levels of satire, cringe, and irony that bounce off of each other like a sunbeam caught in a hall of mirrors that makes it so indescribably funny to me. Not like a kind of funny that makes you happy, but like you got punched in the gut and a laugh came out as the reflex noise of pain.
Amazing how the internet has warped my sense of humor beyond comprehension.

I'm technically old enough, but my family didn't get internet at home until 2006 when I was 15. A lot of my guy friends were on YTMND or similar places around that time and earlier, so they would try to share or explain stuff and I just wasn't in on it. That's why I'm a big fan of the videos Whang does. He's about four years older, so he can explain the stuff I was familiar with but missed out on experiencing.

Red Minus and Brock Baker are both very talented and have easily transcended their work on these meme channels in other places, with superior work that didn't reach as many views. I don't blame them for dumbing down and trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator for views.

I have a tattoo of a sanrio character named rilakkuma, who is a cute bear, on my foot. I thought it would be a clever cute pun (bear-foot) but the amount of people who have excitedly asked me "Is that pedo-bear?!" Will never not horrify me.
I am saddened and dismayed that this would happen. Rilakkuma is a symbol of wholesome rest and I enjoy that pun. Amazing pfp, too.
