I was greatly surprised with the "acoustic" parts and how the heavy sounds emerges and fits with them. Specially like the heavy sound of the instruments and how is performed. A song always feels new again when you listen to it at a different pitch. I think you missed a few important melodic parts but that's just nitpicking. Great cover! Great sound!

One of the best songs in history .. "Somewhere in time is my favorite album" and I love Iron Maiden, but honestly I like this cover more than the original track from 1986. I know that is stupid comparing different music eras and styles. The original song is amazing, but this one sounds particularly aggressive, fresh and so fucking cool. (I think for instance that the version of Madina Lake doesn't keep the original intention of the song, in other words, it sucks. But nevertheless this one is the best cover I've heard in long long time. Psycrence, what a band! I can't stop listen this at full volume! 666 lml

Somehow, this version is heavier, yet less energetic. Quite fantastic, but I still prefer the original overall. But what I appreciate is that this isn't a carbon copy of the original, it does offer something new.
Hi Axle, thanks for your honest opinion. I think what might account for the "less energetic feel" are basically two things. First, the song is tuned down one and a half steps, since our singer doesn't have the same range as Bruce. The second thing are the drums. In the original, McBrain is "galloping" pretty much through the entire song (and along with him the guitars and the bass) which gives the song more energy. We made a conscious choice to discard that, and add more variation to the drum patterns to let the song breathe and give space to the heavy guitars and the synths. This resulted to a more heavy and atmospheric arrangement which might be lacking in other aspects compared to the original. Well, obviously we can't have it all ;) Anyway, like you said, we just wanted to offer a different perspective, not replace the original :)

Totally agree! Overall a very good cover, I like the addes synth track, but the cover loses a lot of flow because of the midtempo drumming. Especially in the chorus.

I actually kinda like this cover more then the original….. before you flame me, hear me out lol. Maiden has that iconic “galloping” style and I think this song demonstrates that gallop as well as any other maiden song. This cover has a heavier tone then the original and I think that tone really compliments the gallop style of this song specifically. And the acoustic intro/outro is really cool. I never thought a maiden cover would ever be as good as the original but I think this is the one exception to the rule. Just my opinion.
