Kayak Fishing, Pompano Beach,FL. Two Mahis, Wahoo and a Kingfish!

- After letting the bad weather past, and wait for calm seas finally on Saturday, November 8 me and couple friends decided to go out to a new adventure,
We stopped by the bait store around 5am and by 6:15am we were aready on the wate. Five minute after I put my first bait on the water boom!!! got hit drag start screaming wahoo on the deck....
a hour later, in 260ft, I put a pilchard out got hit again...Mahi!!
Another hour past by and I decide to do some jigging, first cast, kingfish on......
Things started getting slow and I decided to troll live bait... in 90ft I heard my tld 20 screaming zzzzzzz, then I see this beautiful Mahi jumping out of the water. What an adventure, definately a day to remember...
It's probably just my ignorance and inexperience with kayak fishing and sea fishing in general but it just gives me shivers thinking about the blood going in the water and then dangling your feet over the edge.

I bought a used boat. The engine had issues within a year and cost over a thousand to repair. I sold it and bought a fishing kayak. I go out to the glades every weekend and catch snook, trout, redfish, flounder etc.... so much happier kayak fishing

That truly was a great day. Super video too. You really got er done. I have never been that lucky fishing. You should add a video part at the end on the set up of your rig and the technique you were using. Then you would have the pros beat. Great job.

Man I gain my breath when you put that knife down! That's a no....no! It was so close to the line ... and everything! One thing you can do...besides having a longer gaff and attached with a lanyard: is back off your drag and set the rod on the holder with the tip close to you... make the the fish come with your hands!

Look into a Hawaiian spear gaff... I fished in out of a kayak in Hawaii and watched my buddy use one on a few fish. You will have a much longer reach.
I used before and didn't like it... those are probably good for a larger fish in my opinion

your videos are the reason I bought a kayak. I'm wondering though what kind of gps/depth finder do you use? I'm thinking about drifting from palm beach inlet to juno pier but I don't have anyone to go with and don't want to die. how long have you been fishing offshore? do you ever go alone? my plans are to have a gps/depth finder and a vhf radio in the boat with me. is there any equipment i could also get to make the trip any easier? thanks again man keep posting

Buen video. Ya leí que te hicieron varias recomendaciones. Yo te tengo otra: al principio noté que no te pusiste el PDF, sino que lo acomodaste en algún lugar de la cubierta. Te recomiendo que te lo pongas antes de hacerte al agua con el Kayak. Así nunca se te olvidará. Y asegura todo lo que tengas sobre el Kayak al propio Kayak con una cuerda, cable o lo que quieras. Recuerda que la pregunta en cuándo se volcará el Kayak y se perderá todo lo que no esté asegurado? Suerte en las siguientes salidas y gracias por compartir.
Gracias por tus comentarios, Te cuento que en 2 años que pesco desde el kayak, ese fue mi primera salida que deje elPDF atrás mío y no me lo puse. Siempre lo uso, pero últimamente me esta molestando, voy a tener que comprar otro.
Con respecto a asegurar todo en el kayak, ya perdi 2 set ups de cañas para jigging, 2 pares de anteojos, gaff, pinzas, hats, etc, no me gustan atar todo pq esas sogas o cables se te enriedan por todos lados cuando estas peleando un pescado.

Awesome video. I'm about to start with this kayak fishing here in on the Eastern part of Quezon province in the Philippines. Getting crazy though on what type of gear to pack and the most suitable kayak to choose. Having difficulty as well locating local kayak dealer here with the correct kayak supplies. I have try leashes and it's uncomfortable to fish with it.. I don't like them, but let me tell you for not using leashes already lost 3 rods and reels worth $300 each…no bueno...

Go nzo ... I launch out of different places.. Dania, Pompano, boca Fort, L... I go out about 2 miles offshore

I mean if she's jumping constantly right next to you what makes you think to hurry and get it in the kayak where It can flap even more vigorously at? You should've just tired it out then land her, but that's just my opinion, keep posting these badass videos

una vez me paso lo mismo con un dorado se llevo el gancho clavado y pense que habia perdido el gancho hasta que estaba mas vencido el dorado lo arrime y tenia el gancho pegado jajaa pero estaba como de unos 14 kilos macho peleonero salio
El gaff mio lo perdi…… Si prestas atencion en el video, el gaff se ve flotando en el agua..
