Amazing tank! As a beginner (still haven't committed to even buying anything yet), it would be amazing if you could make a video showing all your equipment in more detail and how each one contributes to making your tank so automated
I have a few videos going over the equipment I decided to buy in depth. Automation really comes from the smart power strips, everything runs on a timer or has a sensor. I really wanted this build to be nearly automated without having to pay crazy money for a tank controller system (like APEX). Biggest thing is automated feeder and automated auto top off! Those alone are worth the money, a doser and even cheap light timers could help for other things.
A water alarm is a brilliant idea and something I’ve never thought of. I’m also in an apartment so looks like I’m on my way to Home Depot in the morning lol. Thanks awesome looking tank btw.
Just broke down my Evo 13.5 and I’d been debating between Red Sea Nano Max, Waterbox 20, and IM 20 Fusion. I think you helped make up my mind. Awesome video, thanks!
Waterbox bro! Innovative marine is a step down in quality from waterbox and red sea, and they use this big ugly strip of black silicone in the corners.
Great work tank looks awesome!!! I remember when you first set it up I was looking into innovative marine at that time. Went with a lagoon 25 They make great tanks.
Hey I really love your tank and enjoy your videos. My tank has 8 month it’s a 20 gal too. Can you talk or share more about your aiprime set up? Thanks !
I can tell you with everything running is about the same as an old desktop computer running, a faint "buzzing". The loudest thing on the tank is the skimmer, if I turn it off it is dead silent. With that running again, similar to an old desktop computer running.
@@reefchronicles2862 Thank you. My spouse was the curious one. Cannot wait to see more. I was considering the Waterbox but now having seen yours... I'm leaning towards THE IM.

Glad things are going well for you, I have the IM20 gal, both the Nuvo and Peninsula, and am upgrading later next week. Did alot of the same things, heater controller, all for reef, Id also suggest an InTank media basket on one side and filter floss holder on the other. It gives you a way to use filter floss, seachem purichen and chemi pure elite, helps keep the water clean, phosphates down and any chemical warfare in check. I did buy the random flow generators. I put it off because of the mixed reviews, since its 3D printed alot of people said they arrived to big or to small. I asked the company I ordered from to just save me the trouble of waiting and then having to return them....guess they ignored that request because I got them and they don't fit 🤨 keep up the good work and good luck with everything
Hi, NICE Video...I am in the progress of getting one of these...question, is there a need for a FISH GUARD for one of these tanks? I am gathering all of the accessories b4 my big move in July.
@@reefchronicles2862 Love the update....Mine is doing good as well...I also concur with the Tropic Marin All For One...the one I am using on this Nano...Video coming Soon...
Hi there buddy I have this exact tank with softies and lps and exact same light what settings are you using as I went with brs ab+ settings but had some corals bleach out luckily enough placed them on sand bed and they coloured back up be interested to see what percent of colours your using thank you great looking tank and corals BTW
I had the same issues with the new BRS AB+, killed corals of mine. So, I run a modified Saxby. Basically, if you pull up Saxby you see how it has peaks throughout the day? I changed the peaks to mimic the original (not new) BRS AB+. Hope that makes sense.
@@reefchronicles2862 hey are you using 2 power strips on one outlet? I was reading it can cause fire 🔥. I don’t have a refugium I want to start one but I don’t have 1 more plug for the light :(
@@davidmurphy4672 hello! While I am using two power strips on one outlet. The second power strip is only 3 outlets versus the 6 on the other. Additionally, the main things that consume a lot of power are the light and heater. Personally I feel comfortable with my set up, but you need to decide your own risk factors. I can also monitor energy consumption on my power strips to see what everything is actually drawing.
Love the tank! Wanting to get one but have a wall of South/West facing windows and worried about algae taking over because of this. Do you have a lot of natural sunlight entering the room and do you see this being an issue?
Luckily sunlight never directly hits my tank, only partial rays here and there so I can’t really comment on it. But I’ve seen others say it will cause issues and you should be aware of where the sun will shine before placing a tank.
@@reefchronicles2862 How did you get your torch so big wow! I am curious how much are you dosing currently? I have the same tank and in 5 months it will have been a year with it. I just got a 2nd ai prime on the tank now.
Nice tank and video! I have the same tank but I'm looking to change the return pump. The one it came with is losing power after almost an year. Did you have to make plumbing changes with the mighty jet return pump?
Hey! First off I would suggest cleaning the pump. My pumps always tend to lose some force when they’re doesn’t and I’m always shocked how much stronger they are after I deep clean them. Second I run the bigger mighty jet and didn’t have to make any changes to the plumbing. Just switched them right out! Hope this helps.
Hey Eric! Depending on when you set up the tank you ight be in the "ugly" phase...my tank looks clean in the video but I promise I've had to deal with algae and issues too. I would suggest getting a lawnmower blenny to help with algae over a "fix all" product. Maybe test and see where your parameters are at too.
I love my GSP, it is slowly starting to encroach on my torch but so far no issues, the rocks are actually SLIGHTY separated so I am hoping it stays on the rock it is on, if not I'll have to peel it off.
Coraline algae is the purple spots you see all over the rock itself, it can come in pink or purple or even green hues. It is the reason my rock work no longer looks white like in my last video. Ask a fellow reefer in your area of your LFS for a piece of rock with coraline on it to seed your tank.
You won’t be able to keep the Blenny and firefish together. I had them in my tank, and the Blenny eventually killed the firefish. It should wouldn’t allow the fish to swim around.
Tank looks great when is the next update?
I am just starting with the same tank and super excited to see a full coral setup

Much love, always a work in progress but I am happy where it is at rn.
Just bought this tank where can I find those exact random flow generators? Also are u still using the same return pump it came with?
Bought from Marine Depot, you’ll want to upgrade to the larger mighty jet if you decide to use them. The smaller pump won’t be enough.
That GSP, unless its marooned on the rock will be a big problem in a few months. Sell it to a LFS and get some more Euphyllia.

I would say about 3 months to see some growth!
Anyone knows where he put his heater since he is already using all 4 of the spots in the back? is it in the pump area?
