I'm Indigenous. So while the views and scenery of this hike are amazing, it kinda breaks my heart that people dug into the earth that way. Especially that much!! With natural weather erosion, all that will only speed up the process of those sandstones crumbling and collapsing quicker. Leading to this amazing nature's gem to no longer be enjoyed for generations not yet born.
Yes very sad, we commented on it in the video when we saw the sign posted asking visitors not to carve into the sandstone 😢 it was posted at the entrance of the canyon.
Driving back and forth on 5 you don't realize that all of those trails are just about everywhere in SD. Those were very cool, and busier than I would think. Looking great as usual on the hike, making the masses a bit......everything? When you mentioned Encinitas, it brought back the exact day when I went to a home there to pick out my AKC English Springer Spaniel among a litter of eight! He grew up with me in SD but traveled across country (VA/CT/CA/VA/CA/VA) with me several times and lived a long good life. Magnum was his name. ❤ Thanks for another local SD adventure.

Great hiking guys! I enjoy everything but most of all the part of the Canyon trail. It was spooky and beautiful at the same time. I did miss Alex but I guess he is not a morning person, doesn't like hiking, and has his parent visiting. 😢 To be honest, don't be mad at me Jess for mentioning this. Sometimes, I think he is missing things in life but that is his decision and we have to respect it, right? Oh well! Thank you for sharing!! Again great hike that I love!💖💖

Ok, gotta say it…….being up at DAWN ON A SUNDAY is clearly a sign of severe mental illness!!😂 That said, beautiful place--I miss being able to do serious hikes, knees just can’t handle climbing/irregular terrain any more. But thank you for letting us come along vicariously on your adventures❤❤❤

I forgot to mention that, where you guys were hiking was a really beautiful area, and it brought back so many memories of the days whenever I used go hiking up in the Bay Area, before I became disabled. The Lagoon was just gorgeous! We want to go back and explore it more… haha, and convince Alex to go see it! We need to take Zac up to the Bay Area - we’ve visited some of the forests up there and it’s a whole other world… so beautiful and green with absolutely breathtaking coastline!
@JessAlexZac Oh yes, I think that Zac will really enjoy himself in the North Bay Area. Especially around (Mt.Tamapias,) I believe that's how you spell it lol. There's a good hiking 🚶♂️ trail that leads you right unto the beach, but I believe it's about a mile long walk. Anyways, you're sure to enjoy yourselves on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉. Thank you. As said many times before and in this video - Alex does not enjoy the outdoors… he does not like to go hiking, and we are not trying to force anyone to do anything they don’t want to do - letting everyone be themselves as good partners should. Before Zac came along I had to find other people to hike with, now I’m fortunate to have a partner that also enjoys it. Alex has never expected me to stop going out on outdoor adventures just because he doesn’t like them. So yes, there will be many adventure posts that he isn’t on when it’s stuff like this.
Guys come on... come to Queensland Australia where we get 40 C degree temps here during the summer and the humidity can get to 80% plus and this can last for over a week
