The (midwest) hardcore emo of the early 2000s slowly morphed into this 10 years later. It's fitting going from angst and anger to sorrow and longing. In my opinion this is one of the most genuine (not forced) movements in music history.
I'm listening to this mixtape as I pack up my apartment that I've lived in since college. 6 years here, it longest I have lived somewhere since my childhood home. This mixtape is the perfect soundtrack to go through six years of memories of a place

You'll remember how your green eyes moaned of pleasure when that was all you were there for. While I was there for the stars in your eyes. Man, your crazy lies, nothing was really here so nothing dies.
The first ones were from the butterfly effect. The next few were from an animated show that I really can't remember the name of right now. I'm almost halfway through this mixtape and I'll tell you the rest later

depression is at least for me, quite the calming emotion in a weird way, and anxiety is WAYYY worse for me, so midwest kinda keeps me away from that
