Great videos, very illustrated! I have been looking for a fly to match the shad we have, this one does! Thanks for making these videos!
Ernie
+12ernie Thank you very much glad you liked it
Awesome fly like always, I enjoyed again! Keep up the good work with channel, more often! :)
+Sasaamann Thank you! Starting next week, there will be 2 videos per week again and a lot more stuff!
Looking forward to it, good luck. :) Start some blog site, that would be good discuss about materials and flies. If you need some graphic design help or something like that, feel free to contact me.
+Sasaamann I have been thinking about starting a blog or something and thank you, if I need any help, I'll definitely come back to you. Thank you so much
beautiful streamers Simon! I had to make popcorn for this full length feature ;-) . I enjoyed every minute! I love this style of "chubby" minnow. Clark Pierce has alot of similar patterns. Thanks Simon, really great looking pattern. The zonker strip looked very full and wild. Was it rabbit?
+Joe Duca Thank you! Yes this video got a bit lengthy, will try to make them a little more consice in the future, must have been tired ;)
The guys from flyfishfood sure have a lot of mean streamer patterns and yes the zonker was rabbit. The regular size from hareline. Don't remember the color though.
thanks for sharing your videos! as always great! You have your own style in fly tying which is very cool.
I was just wondering what kind of vise you use?
All the best
Myroslav
Thank you very much!
The vise I'm using is the Swiss Vise Anniversary Edition from Marc Petitjean www.petitjean.com/online/en/swiss-vise/181-swiss-vise-25th-anniversary-limited-edition-1990-2015.html
All the best,
Simon
Great patterns. Thnx for the explenation.
Beautiful!
I wonder if you would have to carry a brush to tidy flies that have been chewed.😊
Any way I could buy this, do you sell these?
Hi, yes I sell these, just send me an email to simon.johansson-hw@hotmail.com and we'll get something going
Nice fly👍
Very nice fly. I am not sure how I missed it last week but I have seen it now. I have become very fond of the semperfly 18/0 thread. It is more expensive but amazingly strong! Thanks for introducing it. I probably wouldn't have ever found it as I had to send across the country to buy it and have it delivered. Maine, USA is a rural state and money is usually hard to come by for most people. It is especially great for tiny flies. All the best, Sean (Love the black one too.)
Thank you! Great that you like the thread and found a place to get it. It has become my favorite thread in no time. So amazing, especially, as you say, for small flies. All the best, Simon.
Hi, great video. I have purchased the materials for tying this fly. Can you advise what is your trusted trout mix. I must have missed the video that explained the mixture.
Thanks
Ivan
Thank you! The trout mix is brown rabbit fur dub, dark hare's ear plus and some SLF Prism in fl. fire orange. Good luck with the tying.
Simon, thanks for the link, that guy is awesome! Something about Scandinavian design comes through in in these flies. It must be in your genes. I love it!
+Joe Duca You're welcome. Yes he makes some of the best flies I've seen.
Do you think that better and stronger fly would to use the ribbing to fix the Zonker you can still apply glue to the Zonker strip leather before ribbing ? Regards Steve
You can always add a rib of either wire or nylon but on smaller sizes like this I don't think it adds a lot of durability. Or if you aren't putting any cement I would certainly rib it All the best, Simon
Really enjoy your channel. Thank you!
Thank you very much, glad you like it!
