I'm a new owner and I have to agree. The haptic buttons work just fine. I do prefer physical generally but they have not gotten in the way at all and provide a solid force feedback on click, and they look really slick. Bonus I discovered the volume buttons respond to finger slides which is super neat, haven't seen anyone mention that yet.
I love my Tiguan. The buttons are annoying though. The sunroof, heated chairs and steering wheel is really cool and used that a lot in seasons . Great car
I like the cleanliness of the steering wheel switches. The old standard buttons are a headache to clean especially if one spills something onto the old school buttons.
Love my 2023 Tiguan SE R-LINE Black. No problems with the steering wheel buttons. Like anything else there is a learning curve but after that they are a piece of cake to operate.
I bought Tiguan R -Line 2024 model just a week now. The steering wheel touch is excellent they made an update. Sliding & pressing the buttons even if touch by accindent it doesn't change anything I'm talking about a model in Melbourne - Australia This model is not even close to the models we have here, bigger rims, screens, power etc... Has a powerfull engine of 162 kw And the fastest one of 235 kw
also you can fold the front passenger seat down, allowing for longer loads inside the car, or a place for someone six feet six inches tall to sleep on a road trip, fully stretched out.
I love them in my GLI!!! As a VW salesman I can tell you, the only people who complain about them are in the media. All of my customers love the way they look and don’t find them even remotely annoying.
I had both 2017 facelift with the physical buttons on the steering wheel, and currently the 2021 with the touch buttons. I have big hands so my palm touches the heated steering button most times and it is annoying.
I got a 2021 se rline and the wife has the 22 sel rline premium we only traded in our paid off vehicles and have just under 450/month payments for 5 years
My steering buttons on my 2023 is the same but they are actual buttons, not those glossy, digital activated buttons. Maybe they made it better?? I don't know but, i have nothing bad to say about mine.
Man, that power is so less from a 2.0 petrol engine, its nuts. My VW Passat estate is putting out 150bhp with around 235 lb/ft torque. It's a big heavy car but drives so smooth and its got the power/speed when you need it...
They burn alot of oil be cautious I bought one brand new with only 40 miles on it now at 27k it burns a lot of oil especially if you take 8 to 12 hour trips kinda insane Volkswagen should be sued over this
The touch buttons are not bad at all. It’s actually kind of cool to just swipe to change volume and songs. However, when you want to go through the instrument cluster menu using the touch controls or switch between views it can be a little slow.
I love my 2022 but the oil consumption on mine is getting out of control already burning oil mine only has 13k miles smh thank God its still under warranty
I was sold on buying a Tiguan until I drove it.I was heartbroken when I floored it.Thought for sure it would be quicker than my old 2008 Taurus x that I brought for trade-in.It had no where near the power. Why vw put a 184hp engine in a base suv is beyond me.
I bought this car, model 2021. It is a bad, noisy car with many electronic malfunctions, and it is expensive to repair, and the dealer is trying to exhaust you. Do not buy this type of
Had a 22 Tiguan r….. worst car I’ve ever owned. Needed new steering wheel, dropped a cylinder, back off a tow truck, center screen blank 50% of time, adaptiv cruise wouldn’t work and would beep to tell you (couldn’t stop the beep) drivers window would go up when instead of down I could add more to he list but you get the point 😂😂😂
That horse power is so bad. Good lord. 2.0L can get 300hp. What do they do with it? How does it disappear. Nice vehicle other than that. I’ll get the Honda.
2022 VW TIGUAN SE R Series overhead console came entirely off on its own scratching my face missing my right eye by 4mm Purchased from Rick Case VW in Weston -Davie FL They stated its off warranty by 15 k miles USD 787. To fix this crap Do not buy any VW TIGUAN EVER ITS A LIFE THREATENING RISK IF THIS MFG DEFFECT CRACKS ON YOUR FACE while driving Only have 60 k miles and its falling apiary and I still paying without any possible way to sell this crap
Next jobs report will be even worse than this one and if Trump wins they will blame him even though he won't have actually been in office till the end of January 😂
@lucasworktv5280 I've driven mine for a while now. It's been absolutely amazing to drive. No problems, whatsoever. I have the full package on it. Tell me why its worse ?
+99999 about the HATE with those touch controls in the steering wheel. absolutely unfortunate horrible thing, just hope they go away due bad sales and complains 📉
I got a Tiguan R. First I was really annoyed by those touche-sensitive buttons, there’s been a bit of a learning curve, but now I’m used to them.
Gloves? Winter?
@@jzhng250bro what? The steering wheel is heated. This isn't a Lada. No need to drive with gloves on lmao
I hope the Tiguan-R has more power than the base Tiguan. With R badge I'm sure it is.But probably 1/3 more the price at least.
@@jenkemjones68same 2 liter turbo charged engine. The r line black is just cosmetic, and 19" wheels
@jdemuro1 Aww..I thought more power like the Golf-R compared to gti. Thanks for info.
I have the same steering wheel on my MK8 GTI. Those buttons are very functional and never had an issue with accidental operations.
Gloves? Winter?
@@jzhng250 Gloves?😂 It has a heated steering wheel lol.
Only non owners complain about the haptic buttons. They’re awesome , going back to the Stone Age with buttons 😂

Yep same. Love the haptic buttons on my golf. Just have to get used to them

Inhave the 2018. Love it. The only thing i hate is the auto stop
We have the 2019 and I also hate the auto stop.. gotta turn it off every time you start the car.. it’s annoying
The touch buttons are the reason we didn’t get the r line. And we prefer the 18” wheels on the non r line for ride quality and tire availability/cost.

This design and the one before it which looks very similar was a very classy design not sure about the new. New design in 2024
What about the 320hp tiguan R
But if it breaks down or have an accident, there are no parts for it!!! I am at this dilemma and others more
Do you know if they’re planning on going back to physical switches? Or is there a way to change them out? Thanks!

I bought white Tiguan Allspace Rline to mo wife and she is really happy with it. But she doesn’t like the capacitive steering wheel as well. 😅

They drive really nice compared to Mercedes
How is the road noise ?
@@magouliana32loud, cabin is not that noise isolated. But it is very smooth suv ride.
my 2023 tiguan has the same problem. the compresser cycles off after 14 minutes and cycles back on after 18 minutes. then random after that.

I got the 1.4L highest trim. No touch bottom thank god haha
Never understood why engineers and designers have to reinvent the wheel. Why bother shit that works properly and nobody complained about.
Anyone know what Tiguan even means?
gloss surfaces are bad on cars, because cars usually scrach extremly easy
VW Tiguan vs Subaru Outback?
Tiguan for sure
The only problem is reliability of Chinese Rolex for the price of original.
Those seats are grey, not black.
Normalize car reviews not wasting our time telling us what we can see.
