I needed to hear this message; the Lord has been calling me to have joy in every circumstances and I was choosing to be sad or even angry about what happened, but He was talking to me yesterday about that exact message that the joy of the Lord is my strength. Actually, I feel like I may have needed this. I’m in a spot once again where I’m not happy with where I am in terms of where I work. Kinda hard to have joy when you’re in a mundane environment. But it’s like you said, even in the midst of rough times, there’s still joy to be had.

I'm dealing with a lot of physical pain right now, pain and pressure in my head, a bad joint disease, and bad pain in my foot. As well as family who are dealing with potentially dangerous physical struggles, my older brother also has switched from Christianity to being an agnostic. The pain side of things has been a season of waiting which is the hardest part, waiting to see doctors and living in the pain. I appreciate this message, thanks for the encouragement!

Honestly everytime the enemy comes so does my joy depart from me and I mean it constantly. I never knew what joy in the Lord is until now. Even in my life I try to find joy in the things and people around me but to no avail because I am just emotionally numb from all the suffering and sorrows of life. I just can’t feel happiness and joy anymore because of how broken and crushed I feel and am in my circumstances.

Great message Becky. It's easy to assume good things happening=you are in God's will. That's how prosperity gospel thrives but as you mentioned that's not always the case. Many believers have hard lives but will be rewarded some day. ❤
Having true joy seems like a foreign concept by this point - I can put up a face that makes it look like I have joy, but it comes off as soon as I'm alone. I have to keep having hope that at some point I'll experience true joy, but the hope is wearing thin after the years. Thanks for the message - hopefully it will sink in.

There’s no better feeling than getting on your knees, giving him every fear and all your insecurities and maybe even crying out to him, and after all that, there’s this peace, this joy, this small feeling like it’s in his hands, it’s as if he carried all the weights off your back and your just as light as feather. Then things just start unfolding in ways you never imagined and sometime sit takes years to realize why your life is going the way it is, but then you meet people and end up in places where the attributes you’ve obtained over the years maybe even from terrible circumstances end up being the reason you are where you are because they turned you into who you needed to be and that…..that is all God.
wow. I always thought the fruit of the Spirit was stuff that has to grow from us through our actions. which is kinda true for how we manifest it to others. I never thought the fruit of the Spirit is already in us and fully formed, something we can reach out for when we need it ourselves. thank you for that revelation!
Those two are not mutually exclusive. If the soil of the heart is rocky or filled with weeds, the circumstances for growing are much weaker than in good and fruitful soil. Everything is out of God's mercy, but God doesn't pour out His mercy upon us more than we are willing (and ready) to receive. It's like pouring water upon your hands: you receive it all but it flows away if you don't make "a bowl" from your hands.
Just a note for anyone who sees this who may be naïve: do not listen to the comments under this video that say they make X huge amount of money and to contact someone on WhatsApp so that the same can happen for you. Those are scams. stay safe everybody!
