Really interesting to see how these events are done, I am looking forward to the next video. The X-Adv was really interesting, not really come across it before. Thanks Tony.
add Donegal to your list (North West Ireland) and almost all of the Wild Atlantic way. Get lucky with the weather and no finer place. Thanks for the vid
@@mancavemotoyep that would be great. As I live on the west of Ireland I have completed most of it doing bits at a time. North west is particularly photogenic. Good luck with your future travels.
Fantastic narrative! I've owned a NT DCT and I'm picking up my 2023 GW DCT this week. Fantastic tech! Looking forward for Day 2! I've been to Dublin last week (very nice city) and I'm planning on riding the Wild Atlantic Way with my GW soon. Your video and sceneries helped me to make up my mind!😄
On a travel bike I think dct is a great option, and the Xadv a tremendously practical bike. A tour on one with done luggage would be hoot. Beautiful scenery. Ashamed to say I've never been. And it's on the doorstep! Goid one. Safe, happy travels 👍
Nice video Tony, glad you enjoyed the Emerald Isle!. I know the Copper Coast so well, enroute to the West of Ireland. You would love the riding on the Wild Atlantic Way, and places like the Healy Pass, the Priest's Leap, Beara Peninsula etc! Cheers Steve.
Hey Tony. Next time you're thinking of coming here, I'd be delighted to share some routes and recommendations with you. There is so much more to see here. And some of the best biking roads in the world. South West Coast is where it's at. All the best 👍
Nice always Ireland Tubeless tires I with you on that, fun fact I just found out ,the first motorcycle to use tubeless tires was the Honda CX 500 and its Comstar wheels. I was watching FortNine's channel and he mentioned something about that and I looked it up and sure enough.
Rode a DCT, AT, not for me. I like to do the work myself. I have ridden a Goldwing, without DCT, for me it would suit this bike better. Great vid. Cheers.
Love the video that’s a trip I want to make, worked in Limerick for a while so know a bit about the countryside, wouldn’t mind a copy of the routes you take. 😊
I've got DCT No 1, brilliant compared to anything else but twill be nice to upgrade one day to latest version - do all DCT bikes have the same software?
Nice review Tony, not a big fan of the DCT myself, its more me than the tech, defo get back to us in Ireland and come visit the Dingle peninsula here in Kerry next time, you'd love the end of the world views on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Cheers, sounds like a plan. Wild atlantic Way is definitely on my list. I've also just looked at the Connor Pass on google maps and i'm pretty sure i'll be heading to Kerry as soon as I can!
@@mancavemoto yeah defo Conor Pass is a must, you should hook up with Den in Roadtrooper if you are coming over as he will take you on the best Kerry roads and all the passes, he knows a few good places to drink & eat too 🙂
What a great adventure traveling around picturesque Ireland on bikes.Nothing worse then when a auto changes gear mid corner etc glad their gear boxes don't do that.
Can you or anyone tell me what part of the Wicklow mountains that turn is on 7.51. I do ride up there but haven't been to that one yet. Thanks. Great video. 👌
I think the DCT concept is a great idea, having had mainly GS'S of various types over the years a couple of years ago I decided to buy an Africa Twin Adventure Sport with DCT. I loved the DCT and the bike itself was good, however issues with the screen ( and I tried a couple of variations) and a very uncomfortable seat ( for me) made it a very uncomfortable ride, hence to say I am back on a GS. But as i approach my seventies I do keep an interest in the XADV could this be the bike for my later years of riding?
Yep the screen either workd for you or it doesn't, luckily I seem to be OK with the adventure sports adjustable screen, but it does depend somewhat on what helmet i'm wearing
The AT has switchable ABS for the rear tyre, even with the DCT model. It has the IMU to sense what's happening in 4D. Could you try to find with Honda's engineers what happens with another model like the X-ADV. If the ABS was disabled intentionally (say via fuse disconnnection like some people do with the Cb500X), how the DCT would cope with wheel locks in the long run? Or the system isn't fit to deal with it and will eventually degrade and snap? Obviously where neglecting warranties here.
Sadly as you point out in your last line, because the warranty would be invalidated no one from Honda would go anywhere near answering that question! I can try though, but I’m not that hopeful
I wonder why the NC750 wasn't included. Is it because it is coming to the end of product life or perhaps because they can sell as many as they can make?
But, you can't rev the engine at a stop light. People whoive doing that eventually do that whiskey throttle thing into a car or ditch. Manual with a quick shifter for me.
I garantee i would crash on such a system mistaking the rear brake on the handelbar for the clutch. Not fo me which is a shame because i like the bike .
cool event I really like that scooter machine, saw this (up scaled )bike inning some major desert race, cheers V!
Hi - tony, was a pleasure. Nice little breakdown of a great event 🙂
Thanks for watching
The “long, long, way…” reference made me chuckle 😆. Beautiful countryside 👍!
I couldnt resist it! it is indeed!
Slainte! Beautiful bikes, beautiful scenery and excellent commentary. Enjoy day 2
Thanks, the next episode is coming soon
That was a lovely review/tour vlog. Bikes, brilliant scenery and some great Irish themed music too. What’s not to like. Looking forward to part 2.
Part 2 has just gone live!
A great watch... Thoroughly enjoyed it, looking forward to watching part 2. Thank you.
Thanks Graham

Great video, the Copper Coast is my usual Sunday road for a quick spin on the bike.
Love that stretch, and i'm heading out again in September to do some more exploring
An excellent video, so scenic and well edited 👌🏻
That 360 camera must be such a blessing on a job like that !
Cheers, yep it certainly brings some new perspectives
Lovely country, been many times, west coast is just stunning on a bike. Been through the Wicklows many years ago.

Nice! yep i've spent a couple of hours today researching the Atlantic Coast Highway. Don't start looking on google earth, it'll only make it worse!

Couldn't agree more about the Xadv. I loved mine. For comfort I put footpegs on it.
Thats something I would look to do
Great to meet you at the ABR this last weekend
You too!
Stunning countryside.Thks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Tony, good vid. lovely scenery. looking forward to part 2

Sure it’s a tough life! Great vlog as ever…
haha cheers
great vid tony

DCT is great. I had it on my NC700X and now on NC750X. I might buy an AT1100 or NT1100 some time (of course with DCT :-) )
Good choice!

Where exactly were these nice scenery. You didnt say where. Can you drop a link to the route you took
There’s a route map I the video, as well as a few specific parts of the route too. Plus a few name drops in the description

There were some there, being ridden by the crew and internal team, but it was just the four bikes they concentrated on 🤷♂️
Can you pop up to Northern Ireland too?
Northern Ireland tends to get ignored from English bikers.
I plan to on another trip for sure
But, you can't rev the engine at a stop light. People whoive doing that eventually do that whiskey throttle thing into a car or ditch. Manual with a quick shifter for me.
You can if you pop it into neutral 😉 and it is possible to do a little blip in gear. But why do you need to Rev at a stop light? 🤔
I garantee i would crash on such a system mistaking the rear brake on the handelbar for the clutch. Not fo me which is a shame because i like the bike .
You get used to it very quickly
Frankly, this was neither a review, nor a tour description. Not great!
Correct it was neither of them specifically, but a bit of both as mentioned at the start. But thanks for watching.
I rather like the X-ADV. I considered one in Thailand, but found a pristine secondhand SCR950. My real username: 1990 [Nick J]
Hi Nick, the more I ride one the more i want one
@@mancavemoto I would have bought one but the SCR came up.
