It’s awesome seeing Anthony be passionate, and as a long time watcher, I knew this would be an amazing. I love how he even included the photo of him when he straightened his hair. It was so great. Another note to add onto the shampoo point Anthony made: if your hair is really curly, it is 1000% acceptable to not shampoo every day! The reason being is that curly hair tends to be drier due to the natural oils of your scalp not being able to travel down the hair strands as easily as with straight hair. Shampooing is designed to strip the oils from your scalp and start fresh. A big step in really bringing out curls is to stop shampooing every single day. If you feel like your hair does get dirty in between wash days, or you're just feeling self-conscious about it potentially smelling bad, I'd recommend looking into cowashing (washing with a conditioner instead of shampoo). It's a really cool concept and integral to most curly hair routines because it will clean your hair, but also allow it to keep it's moisture instead of stripping it like shampoo would! If your hair is straight and you only shampoo once or twice a week, that's cool too. I personally have pin straight hair and find my scalp to be very oily after 1-2 days without washing it, but I simultaneously have a bit of dandruff and frizziness as well. You just gotta go with the flow and actually see if your scalp is oily/dirty or if it's needing some moisturizing love instead of a cleanse! That being said, it is super easy to over-condition your hair and end up greasy, whereas this is much harder for the curly-headed. It's all about being in tune with your specific hair needs :)

Omg this is pretty much the only vid I could find during quarantine 2020 on how to “tame” curly hair, I haven’t been able to get a hair cut since early February , I hate the feeling of hair around my ears but I’ve grown used to it 😂
This works for women too. I have naturally wavy hair and suffered with poofy, frizzy hair for many years. I didn't realize it was due to the sulfate shampoos I was using. Now I only use sulfate free shampoos and I only shampoo my hair once a week. The rest of the week, I co-wash my hair (i.e. wash only with conditioner). I now have nice beachy waves all the time without any styling.
This video is the main reason I stopped putting greasy wax on my hair to straighten it out and decided to let it grow all out. Never disrupt the curls!!! Thank you Anthony Padilla, this video is a treasure!!

I let it grow out for a year then had the damaged portion chopped off (about 15 inches in length). It has been 4 months and now i have healthy hair and people keep mistaking me for maui (from behind).

This is basically the curly girl method! I have wavy hair and do this. I used to have really poofy and frizzy hair. I wasted years and years straightening my hair and chemically permanently straightening it a few times just because I didn't know how to get nice waves. I just ditched the sulfate shampoo and now I only brush my hair with a wooden brush. The wooden brush causes less static then a normal brush and thus reduces poof and frizz. I also don't brush it when it's dry unless absolutely necessary (like if it's tangled after being in the wind, for example).
