She IS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. The way her brain works will always send my mind & heart spiralling in the best way. Her songwriting & business acumen is something out worldly. Not only the Swifties, but everyone secretly agrees to this. She writes and performs so that we have music we can relate to and heal with for a lifetime❤️
She’s been writing songs since she was 5 , she was born with it!! She’s not only working for herself but for everyone she’s changing the systems and that’s why she became the music industry
She is not “THE” music industry. She is just a part of it like everyone else. Nobody is below her and she’s not above anyone. Many of the artists and actors we like been working hard since they were kids. Like some of them took dance lessons around 6 or 7 and did musicals at school when they were like 14. Unless you’re a reality star like the Kardashians and Paris Hilton (who has their fame handed to them), many famous people started out as kids and worked their way up.
@@Wonnieys You need to listen to John mayer and other artists. I don't know why swifties are so entitled to their opinions. Her songs are no different from other artists. I like Kelly Clarkson songs better than taylor swift. How she is above all 😂😂😂? Do u even know what music is ? Just because she is famous and her songs are weird and have the same lyrics. You need to explore other musicians like eric Clapton, John mayer, if you are into guitar then listen to Alexendria(forgot her last name, but she is an amazing finger style guitarist) , sungha jung and more. Her songs are no different from other artists just like BTS who produce the same song as other kpop artists but got famous.

I was like "am i dreaming or something?"😂😂 , maybe in swifties fans never know what a guitarist is capable of.
Taylor is the purest of talents. She has been repeatedly ridiculed by an industry that only serves to see to their own benefits. Taylor has re-imagined and re-engineered the entire facade of the world of music. She does represent the innocence in the world and can fully relate to every human being. To stand against injustice from the giants takes such a person, pure and innocent, one who can verbalize the need for personal existence and recognition. To single handedly jolt a weakening economy into action is impressive. At the end of the day, her words are our thoughts. Great case study and insight. Most of all, excellent research. Bravo to Taylor and Think School.

Never ever heard a single song of hers But respect for her guts and risk appetite! I remember Prince fought tooth and nail against recording cos owning Masters He'd have been proud today or Taylor Swift!🤟
I was still in school when I first heard Taylor Swift. I was a fan of her till then. Although due to business stress I don't follow her anymore, but still its nice to heard of her again.
Being a swiftie, there is nothing I don't know here. Must have seen each video about tay tay. But this is such an awesome moment! My one of the fav business channel covered about Taylor Swift ❤
I heard her song you belong with me when I was 8 and I totally fell in love with her music. Simple yet impressive. I still listen to her music everyday depending on my mood

Wish this video reaches HER and is appreciated, for this is the best tribute ever made to her!! Great case study Ganesh :) Gonna re-watch it everyday for inspiration 😍
Only swifties have the audacity to say something dumb like this. Many legendary artists were/are in the music industry and their fans never said they are music industry lol. And the cringe thing is her music is just mid and nowhere near the quality of music from those artists.

Bro. This is the same in India too kindly put out a similar case study on Indian record labels. Especially how DIVINE separated from SONY. It would be great if we have Indian case study of music industry. Sonu Nigam too has been talking about it. We need business perspective.
To add to this. If I read this somewhere right. With her Eras tour movie, she didn’t involve any of the production houses (which takes major chunk of the revenue) to release it and directly release the movie on her own.
She wrote songs herself about her experience itself, so its so genuine creativity and that's why she so successful and reigning as queen all these years till date and continuing.
@peacehumanrace She abuses her power by using her music to throw her exes and other people under the bus so that she looks like a victim. Think about it, over the years, she’s gotten into feuds with not one, but many celebrities. Her breakups almost always ended in bad terms. Taylor having altercations with many people who have not so nice things to say about her raises a lot of red flags.
Why coz she is incredible music writer, composer, singer, human , philanthropist...u can have relatable songs for every single kind of emotion and situation in ur life from her❤...
Have you heard of another singer-songwriter,Ellie Goulding ? She is also a songwriter who writes 99% of her songs, a producer, singer and a bigger philanthropist. But she is damn underrated. Why ?
I thought she only made a career out of break-ups with her ex boyfriends I don't find that relatable.... break-ups are painful experiences, and romanticising breakups with your many ex-boyfriends isn't "empowering" I mean, one or two songs are fine.... but if you keep churning out albums on just one topic, then you are a pathetic person
Bro thinks he's cool for hating popular things when he's just an attention seeker who wanna be different and stand out but in reality he's just desperate
Hey bro, I think you might be really talented when you are hating someone like taylor. Can I see your work? or are you just another stressed guy hiding behind screen 💀
From what I had heard, Lata Mangeskar Ji had also fought for rights to artists and singers, probably before Taylor Swift. Apparently, Movie producers didnt pay music artists, even if they were using the songs in their movie. The singers were supposed to earn money from concerts. I dont exactly remember the scenario but it is similar to Lata Ji had fought against this I didnt really focus on story telling, so much as I liked Taylor's music. But, I now know Taylor's struggles, and I think I respect her so much more now.
sonu nigam also fought for royalty in 2013. he sacrificed his career when he was at peak.his all recorded songs were dubbed by other artists and he was banned by all music labels.but now music labels have agreed to pay royalty to singers in india
Taylor is a PART of the music industry. She’s not the only singer in the industry topping charts. Swifties need to accept the fact that Taylor needs to SHARE the spotlight with others.

This video is exactly what I needed to understand the crazy fan following of Taylor Swift that has been in the news lately. Thank you for the video. Her journey is really inspiring.
@Taylor Swift, She's the force of nature. An exceptional case study on the occasion of Dussehra. I'm impressed. Respect to Taylor and more power to such brave women. Great Work @Think School.
Taylor Swift is a global pop star, a modern icon, not only the most awarded artist in the world, but also the holder of a doctorate in art. I love Taylor Swift so much and I'm happy that I live in the same era with her!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Wow, what an incredible journey of Taylor Swift and how she shows her entrepreneurial mindset to convert problems into opportunity. She is an inspiration of every women and also upcoming entrepreneurs.
@kunalkumaraiml2365 She had it way easier than many of her fellow young artists. She had the luxury of supportive parents and a normal childhood. She never suffered the struggles of being a child star as she was around 18 when her music began taking off. Not that many singers and actors were that lucky. They were surrounded by toxic people and parents who did nothing but taking advantage of their money, all on top off giving up their youth and childhood to live in front of cameras. That’s a struggle Taylor will never know.
In India such great personalities are killed.. leading our Bollywood a trash forever. A huge thanks to @thinkschool for making such a awesome, knowledgeable and interesting video on my one of the favourite artists, 'Taylor Swift'.
economists predict that the Cricket World Cup could boost India's economy by up to 220 billion rupees ($2.6 billion). Taylor Swift eras tour adding more than 5 billion dollars. This is insane.
1 US dollar is 80 rupees I was expecting Taylor tour to add atleast 50 billion dollars considering the exchange rate..... 5 billion dollars sounds less
Not only did she re-record the albums, the nostalgic value of growing up with these songs added to the emotions of her old fans. And as a bonus she included "From the vault tracks" which were songs she had written previously for the albums but they didn't make it into the original albums. And above every thing else over the years she has earned the adoration of her fans for all the right reasons that's why she received so much support for the Taylor's version abums!!❤
Listening to Taylor since class 5 and till date I am her fan. The 1st song I heard of her was Shake it off. Till date its one of my fav song from her.😊
I have never listen even a single song of her but today after knowing her story that how she fought against big giants and empower other people as well, this is so amazing, and thank @thinkschool for this amazing case study you are doing such an incredible job. why to only cover big brands there are many other personal brands that are doing great job. thank you ganesh sir you are amazing😀

Finally a video on Tay tay, as an ardent swiftie, I loved your video but you missed a bit about the voting revolution that Tay tay was able to pull off also the generic complaint that female artists use their love break up to write great songs on which she had a great response. ❤ Tay Tay ❤

Thank you @think school for always summarizing any topic into a nutshell without missing anything. As a fan and a person curious to learn, it would be helpful if you guys helped us in researching cases, identifying the cause and effects and connecting the dots by may be a new masterclass. Thank you.
I've never been a fan or a follower of Taylor Swift! But this story is seriously something very different and revolutionary and tbh brought Goosebumps 🙌
She's the most powerful woman in the world. I don't think anyone else will come around who is more charismatic and talented. And if they do, she paved the way...
She comes from a wealthy background and her dad was a stockbroker and a descendant of three bank presidents. So it's not "ordinary". Her dad invested $300K in the record label where she got signed into although it was a small label at that time and Taylor was their first artist.
She debuted in country music through new and small label. Daughter of rich father would debut through umg or warner bros music and would start with mainstream genre .
But then she wouldn't have sustained so long without talent. And wouldn't have won album of the year at the Grammys in three different decades & the only artist to do so.
BTW, her rich background didn't help her get the lost 6 albums back from the music label. Forget about rich background. Just imagine the effort in recreating your own albums (not 1 but 6). It takes guts to do that and then, on top of that, sell so many copies!
details about the VMA thing i didn't really know until later: 1) taylor, young and naive as she was, thought the crowd was booing HER and instead of kanye. 2) beyonce was crying backstage (to her dad iirc) because she didn't want that and she felt awful. 3) pink almost threw down against kanye backstage she was so pissed at him. god i wish there was footage of that particular confrontation
She re releasing her all stolen album also selling more than original ones its insane she is so popular but still down to earth ❤ i love her so much ❤ she is corruntly on biggest tour of all time the era her concert movie is releasing in india nov. i hope everyone watch it,
the way you described the VMAs moment is so accurate, people wonder why she can't move on from that moment, no one would be able to move on, she was so young receiving such a popular award against one of the biggest names in music and someone decides to ruin it, when you experience something like that, you'll wonder if you even deserve your successes at life every time you succeed at something, esp cause she was still only on her second album.
Taylor Swift didn't get this much success just because of her talent and hard work but doing right things at the right moment with right people and ofcourse having the benefit of coming from privileged background. Her dad bought a $300K stake in the record label where she got signed into which isn't commonly seen with any other new talents coming from ordinary family. Although she is actually an incredibly talented songwriter and a hard working musician but without these things many other new talents remain undiscovered. Also another thing she always did is targeting a specific demography with her songs i.e teenagers and getting super high exposure on press and social media about her personal love life on her exes. That's what always made the audience to be able to relate to the lyrics and the events in her life. One thing I personally think that if you are to be an "artist" you have to be as " A true artist takes no notice whatever of the public. The public are to him non existent" in Oscar Wilde's words..... Taylor Swift deviates from this concept and thus becomes more than a singer-a greater business person too *Edit- Her dad bought $300K stake in the record label she was signed to.
Agree, she gets way more media promo and even created drama with Katy Perry (Bad Blood) to stay in the minds of teenagers. Things are not how it looks from outside
@@tims762P Katy perry sabotaged her red tour by hiring taylor dancers for her own prism tour in 2013 and since Taylor considered her friend so she retaliated by releasing bad blood which is song about getting backstabbed . Taylor always wrote abt her experience so plz dont spread hate without context.
Yes she is a singer with a businessperson approach and maybe not a true "artist" in that sense. The true artists are the ones who remain underrated or unknown to the audience and that's the bitter truth. But I do like her albums like Foklore or Evermore where she shows her real talent.
@@Flixtex that's what Taylor's side says, what about the story of Katy Perry's side ? Things aren't BLACK & WHITE as it seems so both sides must have did something, also Katy. But villainising her wasn't necessary as those dancers were primarily on Katy's tour and as said by Katy she reached out to Taylor to clear the confusion but she refused
@@Chitu5671 yes I love the works of underrated artists like Birdy, Sorcha Richardson more than the popular ones. Also I've always loved popular singers with alternative vibes like Lorde, Marina, Ellie Goulding, Florence or Lana Del Rey. But the fun fact is two of them was among the close friends of Taylor in girl squad back in the days (Ellie and Lorde) 🤭
Reminds of the legendary Lata Mangeshkar. She joined industry at 14 as a singer. Worked relentlessly on her craft. Stood her ground for playback credits, playback nominations, stood for artist royalties (for all artists involved in a song). Her fights incited the big names in industry. She stood up gracefully yet defiantly against all who downplayed her craft. Many incidents, many stories- One Woman; The Lata Mangeshkar!!!
Brilliant research into Taylor Swift. I looked for flaws but could find none. More like this would be interesting. For example: inside the music industry. An industry that was so powerful that it used its power to bully and profit from artists and look where this industry is now and where it will be in the future. Perhaps a study on Pink Floyd and the fight between Roger Waters and the band members, especially David Gilmore, would be great. And a study on the Rolling Stones would be great too. There are parallels here with the corporate world and the greed and short-sightedness of partners. Thank you Ganesh. Happy Dussehra

To add few more reasons for her stupendous success: - She listens to her fans feedback very closely and makes chnages accordingly. She reads reddit comments to this day. This makes her fans more loyal and connected to her - She has evolved her musics over period of time, earlier she was more pop but her later albums are actually more critically aclaimed praising her song writing - One of the reasons for such success of her recent tour was the format, she did multiple shows in a single city like a mini residency which was kind of a new concept. This leads to fans travelling from all over to those cities, the city gov recognizing the impact and adding to it by declaring Taylor Swift day etc - She also bypassed the major movie distributors and directly worked with the cinema while releasing her era tour movie which was a brave but successful move - For this tour she was also praised for her performance, she sings for 3.5 hours in a songle show with amazing visuals

@@Please_domesticat_petSorry but music is subjective. Once you dive into Taylor Swift's storytelling it transcends the medium of communication. You relate to the simplicity of her lyrics to poetic heavy Hindi lyrics of old Bollywood. You can totally love both at the same time.
@@Azarath_Metrion_Zinthos Dude you should consume almonds. It's not just the language, it the entire story too.

I agree 💯💯
@@amylee8969 it’s my opinion and her influence kinda says she’s above all atleast this generation and era is hers

That’s the price she has to pay for wanting to be famous, especially her level of fame. Nobody goes without the fame industry without dealing with those things, it’s going to happen whether they like it or not. If someone can’t handle the ridicule, they need to quit the acting and music industry.
@@amylee8969that's such a cynical view to have... that's not why people sign up to be singers and actors...fame is just a by product of that...hate & criticism is inevitable...but it shouldn't be so out of line that it affects those people mentally...people tend to forget behind those celebrity tag lines there lies a human being... people only see a celebrity as a product & not a human..and if the celebrity trails off their career people will see them as a bad product gone wrong...not a human being having identity crisis & crying for help in front of millions of people.

@peacehumanrace
She abuses her power by using her music to throw her exes and other people under the bus so that she looks like a victim. Think about it, over the years, she’s gotten into feuds with not one, but many celebrities. Her breakups almost always ended in bad terms. Taylor having altercations with many people who have not so nice things to say about her raises a lot of red flags.

From what I had heard, Lata Mangeskar Ji had also fought for rights to artists and singers, probably before Taylor Swift. Apparently, Movie producers didnt pay music artists, even if they were using the songs in their movie. The singers were supposed to earn money from concerts. She had it way easier than many of her fellow young artists.

I've never been a fan or a follower of Taylor Swift! But this story is seriously something very different and revolutionary and tbh brought Goosebumps 🙌
She's the most powerful woman in the world. I don't think anyone else will come around who is more charismatic and talented. And if they do, she paved the way...
Without powerful connection?
Her father is rich and is one of the reason for her sucess(she's talented as well, not gonna lie)
What if I say the label was funded by father then
But then she wouldn't have sustained so long without talent.
So good to see a channel like yours recognise TS for who she is and talk about it!
details about the VMA thing i didn't really know until later: 1) taylor, young and naive as she was, thought the crowd was booing HER and instead of kanye. 2) beyonce was crying backstage (to her dad iirc) because she didn't want that and she felt awful. 3) pink almost threw down against kanye backstage she was so pissed at him. god i wish there was footage of that particular confrontation

Taylor is not only a great artist but a clever businesswoman.
😂bruh it's just music she's not even a billionaire who employs thousands
She is a Billionaire now and hired a lot of local people for every city of Eras. She is also a stimulus for local gdp.
She had it way easier than most singers too.
She's one of the best songwriters of all time she ain't a vocalist like shreya lata ariana beyonce or lady She's a singer-songwriter
the way you described the VMAs moment is so accurate, people wonder why she can't move on from that moment, no one would be able to move on, she was so young receiving such a popular award against one of the biggest names in music and someone decides to ruin it, when you experience something like that, you'll wonder if you even deserve your successes at life every time you succeed at something, esp cause she was still only on her second album.
Taylor Swift deviates from this concept and thus becomes more than a singer-a greater business person too
*Edit- Her dad bought $300K stake in the record label she was signed to.

To add few more reasons for her stupendous success:
- She listens to her fans feedback very closely and makes chnages accordingly. She reads reddit comments to this day. This makes her fans more loyal and connected to her
- She has evolved her musics over period of time, earlier she was more pop but her later albums are actually more critically aclaimed praising her song writing
- One of the reasons for such success of her recent tour was the format, she did multiple shows in a single city like a mini residency which was kind of a new concept. This leads to fans travelling from all over to those cities, the city gov recognizing the impact and adding to it by declaring Taylor Swift day etc
- She also bypassed the major movie distributors and directly worked with the cinema while releasing her era tour movie which was a brave but successful move
- For this tour she was also praised for her performance, she sings for 3.5 hours in a songle show with amazing visuals

+ Many more I can't count
The whole folklore and evermore album - about fictional characters and their correlation with real life scenarios.
Ok this is more than 40% now, your stats are wrong!
you're stuck in 2012 and that's sad
😂average American 304 type music
listen folklore 😊❤
We love you Taylor. Thanks for this video💜
I've been listening to Taylor's song since I was 13 and now I am 24 and still listen to her...loved your research about her!
😂 "angraz ke chodal" 👍
@@Please_domesticat_pet"Inferiority complex ke chodal" 💀💀 Music is music it's not bounded by any language.
@@Please_domesticat_petSorry but music is subjective. Once you dive into Taylor Swift's storytelling it transcends the medium of communication. You relate to the simplicity of her lyrics to poetic heavy Hindi lyrics of old Bollywood. You can totally love both at the same time.
OMG it's me Saurabh 😁
@@Azarath_Metrion_Zinthos Dude you should consume almonds.
It's not just the language, it the entire story too. "high school romance", "3years of high-school effecting admission in college" etc are not relevant for Indians. For example in India getting into a good college only requires 1-2 entrance exams or class 12 scores...
You can find it relevant if you dive into American high-school drama... but these things didn't exist 10years ago (very few existed, very difficult to access and not so interesting).
Thank you for the synopsis. i loved very much. hats off to your research and presentation.
