I really thought I was the only one with an abnormal amount of hair, what a relief! So thank you for the tips!
My hair literally looks fried every time I take a shower, but it’s healthy and I have no split ends at all! What I hate about my thick, coarse, wavy hair is that it manages to look like hot wheels tracks/ramps at the ends and it goes in every direction 😤

I have exactly same hair!! I used to flat iron it too, but it's not possible with a baby. One thing I realized is that if I make a bun in damp hair, i get nice waves in the morning. So you can try some heatless overnight curls, but you will have to make multiple sections just like four ironing. Also with our hair it is best not to brush it. The more you brush the frizzier it gets. Just use a wide tooth comb.

I want to try to find a way to style it without heat as well. however, styling with a straightener is the only way that gives me confidence but I hate how much hair I lose when I straighten/ style with heat. Because you seem to have the same hair type as me, some advice🌻 heat does not exactly damage the hair but it makes it prone to drying it out more, and for this kind of frizz u dont want more dryness! You can easily straighten/style your hair this same way with less damage by first, wetting your hair, conditioning, adding a dime size amount of conditioner to your ends (i recommend Garnier Fructis Unmanagable for Frizz) throw up in a towel for 10 minutes to soak up the water+conditioner, brushing, then using a medium heat/cool blow dryer and round brush to Brazilian blowout the locks straight. THEN straightening with a straightener if you have to. The reason this damages less is because if the hair soaks up the conditioner and water, it will be MUCH less frizzy+dry and retain the style better. 💜

    3. Hold a curl for days! 😍😍😍
    4. I'll never go bald and if I do lose hair, there will be plenty left over 😂
    3. Volume by nature, so I can skip all the thickeners 😉

One tip I’ve always found works for me, my hair is very similar to yours but quite long to, if you want to wear you hair more naturally without having to straighten all the time it control the frizz. I put my hair in a plait/braid over night after brushing it out, then in the morning I just brush out anything in needs as little as possible and it just seems to control the frizz a little bit and keeps strands together rather than become a mess. Sometimes if I have my hair down it gets bigger and bigger and I’ll stick it in a plait for half an hour and it calms it down!

Ahh great video! If only hair straighteners were around when I was your age. I spent my entire youth having to go through life with my huge puffy frizzy hair. Thankfully it was the 80’s so big hair was in style! These days I do the same as you, twice a week an hour out of my day to wash dry and style it. On the days I can’t be bothered I wash it dry it and tie it up in a huge messy bun on the top of my head - the volume works !

This is my hair too! Not curly, not straight. Too coarse and not curly enough for curly method. Now I’m growing out grey and those become like wires. I think rollers could work but take a long time to dry.

    - when you curl it that sh*t stays all day

My hair is the same and I used to style it the exact same way, but I found a great new method! My hair has low porosity (can't absorb moisture well) which explains the frizz. A clarifying shampoo with apple cider vinegar helps open up the cuticles to absorb lots of water and now I don't need to straighten it at all. Give it a try!

I feel you when you say you shouldn't be embarrassed of who you are.. My hair is like yours. I didn't like going to hairdressers for haircuts because every time they would they could not cut my hair in a way it would look good, and then complain that it's my hair's fault since its frizzy and dry.. and then start promoting their services like keratins, spa, straightening, saying that it would make my hair great. I have always tied my hair till college. Then finally I realized I am not much bothered about how my hair is but rather how people keep on saying my hair is, then I learnt the art of not giving a ahem, and keep my hair however I want to..

I would say the biggest changes I've made is extreme hydration !! Allll the hydration for my hair (conditioner, deep conditioner, leave in, etc) and then not brushing or styling (I brush mine through in the shower to get rid of any tangles). Since your hair gets oily maybe try a dry shampoo ! I work out 5-7 times a week and I use it afterwards because I don't want to wash my hair everyday and it works for me ☺️☺️

My hair is very similar and I know I’m late but here goes. After I shower aka when my hair is thoroughly wet, your hair normally gets straight and sleek. I then put it in french braids and let it air dry. If you shower at night it will still look good the next day. And once you take it out you can style it a little bit and you have nice even waves. Ur welcome it’s a life saver.😘
