Thanks for the tip, Jeff. I agree. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I was missing also Hit-Monkey and my first two spotlights have been Alioth and Monkey. 12000 tokens worth cards in 30 seconds feels great. And I still have 6 spotlights for future uses (skipping Ravonna and spending tokens on Mobius).
I wanted snowguard and Alioth. Got hit monkey and alioth on the 2 caches i had saved up. I'm almost at the third one to try to get snowguard. If i can't make it on the third, i will have to pass up on her again...
Can someone explain again the Wave interaction on Klimtar? Because Wave got a +2 from Cerebro at that turn, this is how Klimtar recorded the card and gave that value to the symbiont?
I opened Alioth and Snowguard and I have been having fun with Alioth at the expense of my gold conquest tickets. Maybe it is not a good card, but my god is it a fun effect, specially the first time you drop it against an unwary opponent.
I like Allioth a lot I just think he works best in a tempo or ramp deck and used best as a surprise card and not necessarily a deck you build around. Kinda like a second or third win condition
The only spotlight this month with multiple cards I don't have includes Kang so that basically doesn't count. Thinking about going for this one since the other new cards are series 4 releases. Even if I have to pull all 4 I should have more spotlights by the time October rolls around. So weird having to think this long term about my little card game resources. Lol
Since they stopped making series drops, there are already about 500 levels of collection that I haven't picked up any cards from series 4, very sad ;/ it's very difficult to get these other cards like stegron
most games i saw i felt like a simple america chavez wouldve probably won people the game. they get hyped because they activate the new card's effect and not realize simply adding more power wouldve been the same. this is the only deck i actually found alioth to be unreplaceable. nice one jeff
Was on the same page. C5 is where I went with Alioth as well, and almost built the exact same list.. only I don't have Steg so used Enchantress instead.
Thanks for this highlight! I just got from rank 90 to Infinite with this deck, though I was missing Stegron and replaced it with Enchantress. It's definitely optimal with Stegron, but not mandatory.
I like c5 a lot. My first infinite season was last season with c5. What pushed me to commit just a bit more was people shit talking c5 lol. I was like I think something is here and sure enough I was winning conquests and ladder games pretty consistently. It's just a solid chunk of power with enough tech options and the 5 power doesn't exactly NEED to worry about getting the cerebro as often it also isn't as worried about things that break the cerebro buff as often. C5 also gets access to a lot of forms of disruption and movement shenanigans which makes it harder on opponent. Not having cpt marvel anymore kinda sucks but getting doom back in same patch was solid for sure. Anyways alioth is solid in it and glad to see you experimented with it as most streamers I watch tend to be like ewww c5 why would you ever?! It's what spurred me to tryhard with it for awhile since I was so convinced. Cerebro is a fave Card of mine every patch almost feel I'm trying a new brew I make for cerebro.
As a Cerebro-5 enjoyer I was wondering if Alioth could be decent or just a meme and I even considered suggesting it. I'm glad you thought the same! P.S.: still not spending any resources on Alioth lol
I've got Thanos pinned for at least 3 months 📍 , just 300 tokens short ,I'm tempted to get the new stuff or let the titan loose at this point .. Alioth's my kind of card tho , just for the "surprise" factor
i got alioth because i wanted hit monkey and snow guard, i have been having success and fun with the monkey thor deck, ironically the deck i struggled against is galactus and alioth decks...
I wanted Snowguard with the Spotlight Caches, getting Alioth was just a bonus. I was ready to skip this week, but man they buffed Snowguard so hard. Alioth is satisfying when he goes off, but I dont have Galactus so I'm currently just trying to make him work in a lockdown deck
Alioth took me to infinite. I didn't waste chaces on it because the other cards available weren't great variants. Alioth I'm bullish on though. Love him.
Foi bem legal o episódio. Ao meu ver não era o mundo entre mundos, sim Ashoka decidindo se ia morrer ou viver e processando o relacionamento com seu mestre e depois adversário.
They only know how to use tech cards. Lol, all they have to do is learn to play tempo/move/discard against these greedy lockdown and ramp decks and they would win. But nah they want to complain
Jeff you should run a professor X lockout style, so the opponent is forced to play into a lane, and you just blow it up on turn 6. I've been running Nebula, Zero, Daredevil, Lizard, Armor, Jeff the baby land shark, Cosmo, Wave, Atuma, Professor X, Destroyer, and finally your boy Alioth. This deck got me too infinite so it's a fun and interesting deck I've found.
I got him first pull and I coasted to infinite with Alioth after getting stuck in the low 90s last week. So it was a banger for me, but I appreciate Jeff’s balanced take.
Getting to infinite isn't particularly hard. They've made it consistently easier basically every season. Getting to infinite with something isn't a meaningful measure of power level.
Honestly I never really thought Alioth to be a game-breaking card... and he isn't... but as a Lockdown main who recently pulled Galactus (CL 7500 BTW :D ) I think it's basically a "want to have ready" card for those decks... also I pulled him from the first Cache soooo... Don't do that, kids... only if you really want to be toxic c-units like myself :D That being said - I think Alioth destroying unrevealed cards is too brutal... it's not like you score that every time, I personally play him barely in 10% of matches... maybe even not that... but when I play him, I'm pretty sure my opponent remembers it...
I needed Snowguard, so I ended up getting him. I don't have Galactus, I was thinking of using him in a classic Lockdown deck, but Cerebro sounds interesting.
I pulled him because he fits in with decks i enjoy. Should have stopped but didn't. Junk deck for me, going the board, alioth the only place they can go
I think Alioth is an interesting card for Snap because it brings back something that we lost with the Galactus change - there's now a way to actually checkmate your opponent with no chance for them to win. There's the obvious use cases with decks like Galactus and Prof X shenanigans, but there's also the creative applications like in this C5 deck. Learning when to identify these scenarios and retreat will I think help offset the potential cube equity for the most egregious uses of the card, much like how Galactus was never a huge cube gainer in the past. Ultimately, I think Alioth is a solid ladder card and gets worse in Conquest depending on how good your opponent is at playing around your checkmate scenarios.
I whole heartedly agree with you, I've put him into my phoenix force deck with multiple man and dead pool, and sometimes on turn six I have one lane pretty secured, and with alioth i get a second lane that people aren't really expecting from my deck type.
Like you said on your stream yesterday, people were complaining on Loki but Loki makes fun games. Alioth is making lockdown and prison decks meta and there is nothing fun or healthy about that.
@@jhonka God forbids someone has a different opinion than yours. Isn't Marvel SNAP a game where the goal is to play cards to have fun? If you have fun by locking people out of play and not playing cards, good for you! Let others have different opinions? :)
This card is infuriating. Literally cannot play against it. It's either Galactus or Alioth and there just nothing you can do. SOOOOO frustrating to play against. Should have 0 power. So stupid it just auto wins you a lane
Thanks for the tip, Jeff. I agree. The wave interaction was one of the most colossal brain plays I’ve seen on this channel, and that’s saying something
Timestamp: 8:00
The Klyntar play was just 5head. Amazing how this videos can be quite educational :)
Wanted Snowguard anyways and pulled Alioth first. I've had a lot of fun playing with him so I'm happy I ended up pulling him.
Same situation, but I pulled Snowguard first and then decided to just stop there for now.
Yeah, I didn't have any of the three cards so I'm happy.
Same
Same! I wanted snowguard but pulled Alioth. He is fun, but still I don't feel I found him a deck where he truly belongs and shines!!🤷♂
I wanted snowguard and Alioth. Got hit monkey and alioth on the 2 caches i had saved up. I'm almost at the third one to try to get snowguard. If i can't make it on the third, i will have to pass up on her again...
Can someone explain again the Wave interaction on Klimtar?

Exactly and then it gets bumped to 7 by Cerebro (again).
The problem that is that you don't really need a second or third best win con in those decks. Feels incredibly redundant in my play so far.
The only spotlight this month with multiple cards I don't have includes Kang so that basically doesn't count. Thinking about going for this one since the other new cards are series 4 releases.

Daddy’s little purple fart killed me😂

Every creator out there: play lockdown or galactus with alioth. Hooglandia be like: what about cerebro 5?
We always try to color outside the lines here.
Would Polaris mid at 12:25 not have been 3 more power?
4:29 Best Jeff line! 😂😂😂

Been having a lot of success with Alioth in a HE lockout deck
Actually genius adding wave to c5. Fantastic brews from you this month
I bought Snowguard from the token shop a day before it rotated into the Spotlight Cache, FML
As a Cerebro-5 enjoyer I was wondering if Alioth could be decent or just a meme and I even considered suggesting it. I'm glad you thought the same! P.S.: still not spending any resources on Alioth lol
Any replacement cards for silk?
Anything with 5 power? Probably won't be as good, though, as you want something that can trigger Miles Morales
a PRO tip to counter Alioth, phoenix force revive card wont affect by Alioth.
I've got Thanos pinned for at least 3 months 📍 , just 300 tokens short ,I'm tempted to get the new stuff or let the titan loose at this point .. Alioth's my kind of card tho , just for the "surprise" factor
Jeff sneaking in a C5 highlight. I like this timeline.
I'd never have regretted throwing my 1 Spotlight Cache into a week with no duds.
And I got Hit Monke!
i got alioth because i wanted hit monkey and snow guard, i have been having success and fun with the monkey thor deck, ironically the deck i struggled against is galactus and alioth decks...
That deck is a ton of fun, but unfortunately isn't very good into Wave decks.
I wanted Snowguard with the Spotlight Caches, getting Alioth was just a bonus. I was ready to skip this week, but man they buffed Snowguard so hard.
Alioth is satisfying when he goes off, but I dont have Galactus so I'm currently just trying to make him work in a lockdown deck
how about viper the ghost make opponent always lose priority?
Rather than playing two medium cards in a bad combination, just play good cards on curve to keep priority.
I've found it to be a great card. Went from 86 to infinite and won a gold conquest run with it in 24 hours so not complaining hahah
Would you mind sharing your list? :)
All new cards are like this becase nobody knows how to play against it...
Or not, i dont know lol
I wanted Hit-Monkey but I pulled Alioth. Ive had have fun with him and my move deck with good success after a few ajustments
Alioth took me to infinite. I didn't waste chaces on it because the other cards available weren't great variants. Alioth I'm bullish on though. Love him.
How was the Lizard in the first game not reduced to 1 power with four opponent cards there? Am I missing sth?
Yeah bud you are indeed missing Luke cage
@@tahaansar3139 Oh right ahaha thanks for pointing that out for me
The play at 8.03 is just too damn smart.
Happy for Alioth to have a home, and for that home to be a niche deck that is actually better for having him.
Expected an Alioth video, and I got a Stegron highlight instead!
No one would click on a stegron video, so i gotta sneak him in where I can.
I've seen a surge of Galactus decks thanks to Alioth.
Who are you and what did you do with Jeff
Appreciate you being so up front about the new releases!
Wow that klyntar play
Great review as always, I agree that Alioth isn't meta busting. I bought him anyway cos I think he is kinda neat.
Foi bem legal o episódio. Ao meu ver não era o mundo entre mundos, sim Ashoka decidindo se ia morrer ou viver e processando o relacionamento com seu mestre e depois adversário.
don't tell the subreddit, they think the card shot their dog and is the harbinger of doom for Snap
Literally every good card that releases Reddit loses their collective shit about it.
Bunch of children with keyboards.
They only know how to use tech cards. Lol, all they have to do is learn to play tempo/move/discard against these greedy lockdown and ramp decks and they would win. But nah they want to complain
Can I replace stegron?
Enchantress, he said

We spent a lot of time trying variations of this with Alioth and none of them felt very good.
He reminds me of Knull, powerful in a few decks, but not a generally playable card
Though probably better than Knull tbh
Love your positive critism..thanks for the info❤
I got him first pull and I coasted to infinite with Alioth after getting stuck in the low 90s last week. So it was a banger for me, but I appreciate Jeff’s balanced take.
Fun deck, Jeff!
Do NOT skip this week... Alioth is the real deal.. went to infinite on easy mode
Getting to infinite isn't particularly hard. They've made it consistently easier basically every season. Getting to infinite with something isn't a meaningful measure of power level.

Ouch 7500 to get galactus
@@dandogamer 😂
I didn’t buy the season pass(loki) but i unlocked Alioth and easy infinite this season as well 👍
I needed Snowguard, so I ended up getting him. I don't have Galactus, I was thinking of using him in a classic Lockdown deck, but Cerebro sounds interesting.
Yeah, Alioth fits better in lockdown or Galactus decks
i literally pulled everything but alioth. thats what i get for thinking id get lucky with 3 caches. at least i got phoenix force ig
What can I substitute Stegron with?
I was wondering the same thing. Seems like he adds a decent amount of value with the move/control aspect though.
I was also looking for a Stegron placeholder
He said you can replace it with Enchantress
"Daddy's little purple fart"
I pulled him because he fits in with decks i enjoy. Should have stopped but didn't. Junk deck for me, going the board, alioth the only place they can go
good stuff as always

These are definitely the highlights and not the low lights.
As someone who enjoys lockdown decks, this card is right up my alley. Plus I really wanted snowguard too.

Been enjoy this card a lot in galactus. Sorry...
C5?! I forgot about him having 5 power. Nice!
Begone interloper! 😂😂
Feels like Alioth is going to be in the same class as Heindall where when most people play it they end up losing 😅.

People already think we are children for liking Marvel
💀 😂

First!
I spent 6k tokens on this because I like the card. replaced Gamora in DevilishKitty. Having fun.
