I am actually an aerospace engineering student and this makes me sad :,3 and yes... It is dangerous if it's not taken care of regularly. Although that goes for everything planes usually carry more people but also they are used by way more trained people? So really. Be afraid of the company that you are flying with, not planes :> (Boeing is low key insane)
I've been in more danger from cars than planes That being said I will never get on another plane with wing propellers or at least not have a wing seat.

@ it was an experience. After getting over the initial take off it was quite nice I even enjoyed the night time landing, but the smoothness of the flight out didn’t prepare me for the flight back. We had to fly into a storm (because there’s always storms over Scotland 😔). It made the flight faster but I was not prepared for the plane shaking and juddering around. Even though we only had relatively minor turbulence I was terrified. The landing was awesome but also terrifying. Glad I done it though, thanks for asking 🙏🥲
She's not wrong to be scared. One, the statistics are manipulated, it's not as safe as they make it seem. Second, yeah, it's very safe, thing is, if something happens, you're dead, period. There may be a billion more car crashes, but people usually walk out of those. Planes never have accidents, but when they do, that's it, good bye.
