    Ingredients:

    All-purpose flour - 2 cups
    Salt - 1 tsp
    Black pepper - 1 tsp
    Garlic powder - 1 tsp
    Onion powder - 1 tsp
    Paprika - 1 tsp
    Cayenne pepper (optional) - 1/2 tsp
    Buttermilk - 1 cup (optional) or a cup of water
    Eggs - 2 (optional)
    Vegetable oil or shortening (for frying)
    Instructions:
    Prepare the Chicken:
    Rinse the chicken pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
    In a large bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs. Submerge the chicken pieces and let them marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight in the fridge).
    Prepare the Flour Coating:
    In a separate bowl or resealable plastic bag, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
    Coat the Chicken:
    Remove the chicken from the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess liquid to drip off.
