  • Join me as we fly the circling approach into Genoa LIMJ in Northern Italy and I guide you through how we do it in the Airbus!
    I am a real world Airbus pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the new detailed simulation of the longest baby 'bus by Toliss. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

    Yet another great video, many thanks! I've seen this kind of approach performed a few times online, but not know what they were doing and why. You have made this procedure crystal clear!
    It is clear that a great deal of thought and preparation into each of your tutorials, it is very much appreciated!
    If you're ever doing a follow-up video to your take-off tutorial, would you please add some coverage of maximum performance take-offs? Thanks again!

      Thank you for watching and your kind words as always. I'm glad this one was clear, there is quite a lot going on! I will consider that for the takeoff, thank you!

    Absolutely fantastic video series, I have learnt so much from the ones I have watched so far, many thanks. It would be great if you could explain how this would work for the VOR A/B circling approach at Corfu for example where you approach across the runway threshold(maybe an idea for another video?). In the early part of my career I worked for NATS in Area and Terminal control(18yrs), so it is always good to see things from your side!

      Hi Simon thank you for your kind words, I'm really pleased you're enjoying the videos. I will add that approach to my list and can hopefully make a video with it soon. Working at NATS must have been fantastic, getting the view from an ATC side is always great for us too!

    Thanks for the great tutorial! In this approach (right turns), would the first officer always fly the landing due to their superior visibility? Thanks :)

    Awesome video. I am wondering how pilots are gonna do if they wanna perform a Go around after activating the secondary flight plan. The missed approach of the initial ILS approach is replaced by the sec FPLN in the fmgs. It is gonna be messy and clumsy

      @@320SimPilot You really explain everything very understandable, according to my GF even to those with no aviation experience at all.
      Also what I have on my wishlist is maybe a tutorial or just shown what you would do with different types of engine failures. Not sure though how many different types of failures the Toliss can simulate, but I think they can be induced manually via the Toliss Menu

    Thanks again captain, Can you explain how we can get airport ATIS from MCDU ?

    • @320SimPilot
      @320SimPilot  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching, hope it was useful! ACARS works through the MCDU on the real aircraft but sadly in X Plane I do not think it is possible so I get it from the AviTab plugin which seems to be able to download the real world weather!

      @@320SimPilot Thanks for the reply, It's useful indeed, I'm using AviTab also, but I need to know how you get it in real aircraft, which MCDU button you use to get it.

    8:30 is it always 45 degrees and 30 sec? What do you base that on?

    Sorry for the video resurrection.. you say normally you could circle/turn north or south, is that upto the pilot to pick either way? Or will ATC give guidance?

    • @vmtias
      @vmtias 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i think it depends on what the app chart says, as you could see in this video it was not authorized to circle north of the runway, but im not really sure

    If I would present subject like you to my students, I think that the auditorium will be empty very quickly. First, the speed at which you switch views of instruments in the cockpit can make spectators dizzy. Second, since your audience isn't just made up of those whose English is their native language, your gunshot words may be completely incomprehensible .... Take deep breath and time....
