So glad it was helpful for you. 😊
Hi, Michelle! Thanks for the explanation!
I have a story: I was looking for block yeast once, and they no longer had it, so I went on an adventure to find it: I went to 5 stores, and NONE of them had it. I finally went to a store I had never been to before, and I asked the guy working there for "yeast." He didn't know what I was talking about--it turned out to be a language issue. He asked another person working there--in Spanish--what I was talking about. i then realized it was a language issue, I started talking to him in Spanish, and he was from Argentina! I needed the yeast to make Argentine pizza, so it was quite a coincidence. Thanks for sharing!
Oh wow! What a coincidence! Yes, dry yeast is much easier to find. I admire your perseverance. I probably would have given up much earlier. Out of curiosity, were you born in Argentina or in the United States?
thank you so much

Fresh yeast is sold in 500g blocks where I live. How do I convert it? Thanks.
I would cut off pieces and weigh them with a kitchen scale. You need 42 grams to be equal to 1 tbsp dry yeast.
@@AmericanBakerwhy did you write 42g? Where did you get that info? red star yeast website says 18.9g
So, listen to what you choose. I'm not telling you what to believe. 42g is the information that I found. If a different brand has a different conversion, then that is the conversion of that brand, which can be different to the one I found.
