The Beta 300 2 stroke is 1 lb lighter than the 500rrs so not much point switching weight wise :-) The 200 is about 10lb lighter but its a 200 and it may not have enough umph for you. I noticed, after about 400 miles it seems like the 500 engine really woke up. The other day for the 1st time in rain mode (just because I've had it over a year and never tried it) Wow did it tame it! I might leave it there most of the time. For me it was crazy how much the engine woke up around that 400 mile spot.
Well, the Beta website shows the 2024 500 RS as 241 pounds dry and the 300 RR as 207 pounds dry. Having ridden them both the 2 strokes all feel much lighter due to the big 500 engine mass and all that rotating inertia. What I want is to keep the 500 and also have a 2 stroke, but that will have to be down the road in the future. 😊
Wow the 500 must have got fatter and the 300 got skinnier in 24 lol What mpg are you getting on your 500? I could tell right away my milage went up in rain mode but my regular mode is not good at around 30mpg if that.
@@AKAOmnivore my mileage was pretty poor in the beginning, about 32, but after about 40 hours it settled in better, now I usually get about 42 to 46 depending on how hard I ride. And the 2021 model was listed at 244 pounds, so she hasn't really gained weight. Beta is always very optimistic with their listed weights. Mine is about 260 ready to ride. 😬
Thanks! I must have been looking at dry weight, I thought it was like 227? Something like that on the mem stick Beta gave me as a manual with the bike. I never actually put it on a scale, but it's ridiculously light compared to my other bikes albeit with a really high seat height... I was hoping it will sag eventually a bit, but I did purchase a 1 inch lowering kit if I ever get around to installing it. Too many toys, so little time 😀 A10 mpg increase would be fantastic, as it is I carry one of those giant loop 2 gallon gas bags with me.
@@AKAOmnivore I hope your mileage goes up. I have ridden 85 miles on my stock tank, could probably squeeze 100 out of it depending on speed, so I have stopped carrying fuel on the bike with me. I mostly ride trails so even a 30 mile day for me is pretty long. 😂
I guess I'm not familiar with 'BDR?' This looks a little like Aspen Ridge between Buena Vista and Salida with views of Mt. Princeton, Antero, Shavano to the West?
That is probably correct. I didn't see the name Aspen Ridge anywhere, but we could see Princeton etc. BDR stands for Backcountry Discovery Route. 😊 ridebdr.com/homepage/
@@davidkraft4529this area is far far more than 1000 acres or even 50,000 acres. That’s awesome. Only 1000 acres? I would wish for 50,000 acres. Go big or go home 😂.

many states have BDR trails, in Wisconsin we have one called the TWAT - Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail
@@gettinglucky probably beautiful in the fall! I may have to look into that and put it on my bucket list.
