Listening, reading or just intellectual understanding of discourses is not enough. Such efforts are helpful, but they do not liberate. Truth liberates only when it is practiced and lived out in our waking state or daily lives. To put the message or principles in practice is our real work. Without the ever-present grace of Truth or true knowledge, no effort in this direction is possible or fruitful. Meditation is a method, not the end goal. The end goal is supreme rest or peace, which is already the true state of the Self, covered up by intellect, mind and body. Hence, all efforts are to realize the transient nature of this mind and its fetters and go beyond. Obstructions removed, the rest happens naturally, spontaneously and by grace. Truth resounds and shines in silence.
