Thank you. I was hoping that people our age might see these and realize it can still be done. Not that we’re working as hard as we did at 20, but if we’re careful and take our time we can still enjoy some amazing backcountry locations.
I've been fortunate to find a partner that enjoys canoe tripping with me. I did some solo tripping earlier in life, when I was a bit younger. I may try some again one day. Solo is a much different experience. @@timothyreid3061
On my first trip in Temagami, we stayed at the site at the north end of Obabika, right near the portage, for two nights. Two of the most beautiful nights of my life!
Very nice video covering most of the same scenery I have had the pleasure of witnessing. Brings back many memories of solo trips, and those with several buddies in the past. As I am approaching 63 years of age, I am thrilled to see adventurers like yourselves living life to the max, and not shying away from the challenges of the outdoors. Inspiring.
I stayed at that site with the big tent, used it to keep my gear dry. And then we had the changing of the Seasons festival the next day. Must have just missed you by a couple of days or so. Cheers!
My wife and I are 60+, and have just (re) discovered canoe camping. Enjoyed watching your excursions

I actually considered setting up under the tent.
We have done this trip taking in Maple Mountain each time.
We did hike Maple Mountain on the way back. A great hike.
