What I heard, after listening over and over because of this discussion, is something different than I've ever heard before: "I'll (or 'I'd'. It would work) just be now a fragment of your life/you want to free". I don't hear 'allow' and I don't hear 'to'. I don't hear it in any of the studio versions, nor in the live recordings. It's logical, more logical than switching to 'I' being the subject from the object of the verse. If anyone hears anything different, let me know, but it really just shows me that 1. artists aren't always known for enunciating, and 2. listeners aren't always as diligent as necessary, especially when over the years convention has set in, and the artist has allowed it.
