Love the video. I use to drive this route every weekend to visit my parents when I got a job in Phoenix in the mid 70's. Use to listen to the Eagles on the way back to Phoenix at night after a weekend visit. I think I will watch this video with the Eagles playing in the back ground:) Would be nice to see a video going in the other direction.
    Thanks for the video,
    John

The Saguaro only grow at the lower warmer areas and they are usually very old by the time they get that large. The clumpy bushes are actually Pinyon Pine trees I that have very good nuts that are very nutritious. The Indians used them for a very important part of their diet years ago. Check out my video taken while doing touch and go landing at Deer Valley airport in Phoenix.

@@BobBureker any thing that should aware of if traveling in the winter such as snow or dangerous road condition

@@cobao5526 Yes of course any driving in the mountains can be dangerous when the weather is bad. I would stick to major freeways during stormy weather. 87 gets normal plowing in the winter but not as often as Interstate highway. Major snow storms do happen and it would be slick with black Ice forming from melt water refreezing into very dangerous areas. Watch the weather forecast and check with AZ DPS for highway conditions before you go on it.
