My fav group..debuted in 8 yrs ago. Originally 7 members, but Wonho left in 2019, due to false rumours spread about him, that were later dismissed. He is also an amazing solo artist now. The leader Shownu is in military service now, so only 5 of them at present. They have a huge catalogue of great songs, Check Love Killa, Rush hour, Gambler, Love. Older stuff Shootout, Follow, Jealousy, Alligator… joohoney and IM are the best rap duo in Kpop in my opinion. Joohoney produces their newer stuff, reactors go crazy for his producing of the song ‘LOVE’. If you like a group that goes hard, this is your group
This comeback is a bit different from their usual but just about every one of their releases tops the last with something new- they’re been around for almost 8 years and that’s not easy to do, with the frequency of their releases as well. This title track is is really fresh and personally, one of my favorites because of that and rock/metal and edm are two other things that I enjoy so to see them with this song… it just felt right haha my men do it right!
The song structure is so genius. The lyrics are basically about someone gaslighting themself into believing this toxic and not reciprocated love is enough and everything they want. But a one-sided relationship will never bring satisfaction. That's why the song is all about building up tension, but never releasing it or coming to a conclusion. The song is supposed to make you pause and wonder why it feels so off-putting but addictive at the same time. That why i love Monsta x so much after so many years of career they are still able to release quality music on a regular basis. no they never really had a big hiatus and they are still the major group of STARSHIP with now their little sister IVE. their rap line is still as monstrous . Toxic love? Monsta X love to live dangerously...!! The mv is really a great way to "show" the lyrics of the song. Broken glass, the chains, black and red... I love the contrast between their vocals part and the rapline... KIZZ FROM BRAZIL.💋

I'm glad you said something about some people looking down on kpop. I think they misunderstand because of the word pop. Kpop has so many different genres in it, and mixed genres even within each group. It's like saying I like rock, there's classic, heavy metal, etc. There's something for everyone! 😊 I love Monsta X. OK ok ok. Monsta X has really good songs but they're the only kpop group that has done English songs flawlessly. Who Do You Love, Someone's Someone, You Can't Hold My Heart, Play It Cool are a few that are super good. Dramarama, Shoot Out, Fantasia are really good too on the Korean side of their discography.
