This was lovely! If you could, would you consider doing this for the rendition of Casimir Pulaski Day that you did? I really loved that. Even just a simplified version or a basic breakdown of the chords. Thank you for sharing your beautiful piano playing with us!
Beautiful that mate. I can play this song as Tracy Chapman does on the guitar but love the sound of the piano. This is just beautiful and thanks you for this. Not so good on the piano but I love this version and it inspires me to have a go at this. Thank you.
I just started self learning with the help of udemy as an adult, I wonder how long it'll take to get to play like this, so beautiful especially from 4:06!
Hi Josh, I don't know if you ever received my email to you ( I found it after listening to your improvisation of this song uploaded on TH-cam and I Google your username and came across your website) I was more is less praising you on your efforts and that out of the many TH-cam videos I've seen covering various songs on guitar and piano( 1000's), yours is always the one I come back to of this song and that as much as I hate to admit it, I always seem to end up crying listening to it! I don't know what it is about this song and the way you play it, but it's truly amazing and so heartfelt it's hard not it ignore it's fantastic composition and musicality. I've just found this video showing how you came around to putting it together, sadly I cannot play to piano, was a bass player in a band for many years but would love to try piano sometime. Thankyou so much for your efforts, you are a wonderful gifted musician. 👍🏻
It varies from person to person. Start with really easy basic stuff like sounding out simple melodies on the piano. There are decent ear-training materials on youtube and online as well to help you out.
It sounds great the way he plays, however I must agree most of us don't have hands big enough for this reach. Those of us with "hands smaller than his hands" can just do different inversions of the same chords and have it sound just as lovely. :)
Thats the most wholesome Version on Piano i heard so far☺️
Do you have a full version of you playing it your style that’s absolutely beautiful man 👏🏾👏🏾🎹

One of the best tutorials I've seen yet. I've always wanted to get better at my improv and this tutorial is super helpful as a starting point.
I keep replaying from 4:46... so talented..
Thanks Diamond.

Sure thing, Tori. I'll add your request to my list. Cheers!
This key is perfect for my vocals. Thank you very much.
Mate your improvisation is bloody amazing. Have you recorded a full version of this song? Would love to hear it. And Merry Christmas 🎄
Hi Anton, thanks. Here's my acoustic version from a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/dxPoe9xixkM/w-d-xo.html
You’re such a fantastic pianist, beautiful. Would be a dream for me to play like you 👌🏽👏🏼
Thanks Anton! Very flattered.

I love you for this I hope you are having a great day and a stranger buys you a coffee
More!
Nice! .will study it!
Hi did you take piano lessons or did you learn by yourself (by ear)? BTW loved the video!
Hi nukeme, I took piano lessons through college but for songs like this I learned by ear. I am sure the lessons helped though!
heavypiano is 1 year enough to play by ear?

DO YOU GIVE ONLINE PIANO LESSONS?
Shouldn't this be in A major?
I think you're right-that's the key on the record. I play it by ear.
What is the key this is being played in?
C Major
heavypiano
OK, I'm trying to figure out the chord progression, I was confused because it didn't start on the I chord. So it's IV-I-vi-V?
Yep!
heavypiano
Thank you so much. That really helps.
Beginners do not know what minor or majors are! Call out each letter or chords by naming them!
It’d be sick if it showed how a mortal with normal sized hands would do it lol
Ha! I guess I do have a large reach.
