Organizing inventory, checking the neighbours, stealing neuropozine for a good cause, and reading the hunderds of unread e-books, reminiscing about Pritchard while reading his e-books on the Juggernaut Collective. All while wandering around Jensen's apartment. Guilty pleasure. Something about the atmosphere that makes it bearable to loiter about, same thing with Human Revolution.

idk know what it is but this game and Human Revolution had something about them that completely dragged me in. I've never played any of the older Deus Ex games before but i imidietly fell in love with these two. Whenever i hear soundtrack from it, it triggers a strange familiar feeling. The atmosphere is just breathtaking and i love to go back to these games every now and then.
Even if people complain about graphics and resolution (they always do), the atmosphere is key. And Eidos Montreal nailed it. I tried software like 3dsmax, so i know how difficult that can be. Makes me appreciate the work going into this even more. Lighting and the fog/ smoke effects are gorgeous.
I don't care about graphics at all. Graphics are highly overrated. As you say, a nice atmosphere doesn't need photo realistic graphics. Look at Deus Ex 1. Look at the original Thief games. Look at System Shock 2. I can only pity the graphic whores these days. I think Mankind Divided has pretty nice graphics though.
Must admit, I thought mankind divided was a good looking game, I went back and played human revolution and had issues with the graphics initially, but 2/3 hours into the game it didn't matter, the atmosphere and world building had me that engrossed!

while i graduate from college, I still hear this music ambient for getting sleep. The world is dark and full of gray areas, but this music nails that it's not necessary to put that top much into personal life, just chill in home
The attention to detail in this game is mind blowing. I love zooming in to every random object and corner of every environment I came across to see that the developers took the time to paint such intricate details. To me, this elevates Deus Ex from being just a videogame, it is art.
I went to visit Prague because of this game. Of course it is completely different in most ways (we're not in the future yet etc.), but in some parts of the visit I had major deja vu - all the red rooves, architrcture and language. The ambience was similar. Of course, I went because I wanted to capture the feelings from this game, which I wasn't quite able to.
I hope more games can have such lived in environments. I feel like having an actual house does a lot to ground someone in the world. I would totally love in that apartment. It is gorgeous!
For years I listen to this play from my laptop or iPad. Soaking in the mood from a game I hadn’t played Honestly, everything leading up to it was the best. Now I resonate with those who felt cheated from getting an incomplete game But the world is and always will be there. And you never know what the future will bring

Mankind Divided was an amazing game. Prague was a better hub area than any other, even though I loved Hong Kong from the original Deus Ex game. It's sad we wont see a sequel for a long time - if ever.
Totally agree. Having played HR and MD several times now I'd go so far as to say that MD is the better game in my view, and it makes me a little sad that I'm in such a minority on that. Sure the scope is smaller, but because of that, what is there is perfectly realised. The Prague hub has more going on than Detroit and Hengsha put together, and the narrower story (stopping a terrorist attack rather than saving the whole world) feels more urgent and real. Here's hoping for a sequel or at least an intelligent remake of the original along the lines of FF7.
@@Habasi There are elements of both that I liked, but MD was a stronger game than HR. I would love a sequel and something new as I don’t think they could do the original Deus Ex better. With it being owned by a large publisher, I doubt we will see as much of the conspiracy stuff again. The mainstream media would not appreciate some of the themes like grey death/ambrosia.
there is a reason why this is one of my favorite wallpaper (Wallpaper Engine) . oddly the most powerful moment in the whole game . probably after the massive whiplash that the previous hour of gameplay and to be tossed back to the mundane reality of life . is HARSH .

I pleasantly note a vague similarity between the living room of Adam's apartment and the scene in Blade Runner where Rachael is interrogated at Tyrell Corp. With this OST in the background it adds more charisma to the overall picture. What a magnificent game!
I really, really enjoyed this game and only clicked with it after my third attempt. Kind of didn’t want it to end, and so much of it was because of Prague’s design and the game constantly making me feel like a genius. Combine that with an unparalleled atmosphere and soundtrack and god damn, what a fine game.

Well this one is a mix of in-game and OST music, so it's sort of an extended version. The official OST is a bit weird to me right now, it's all mixed differently than the in-game music which I think I'll use over the actual official OST for most locations. Human Revolution did the same, but it was a bit easier to work with. Mankind Divided is actually really confusing, but with a few playthroughs I'll figure it out.
