My Coventry Climax to date

I wanted something small and interesting to tinker with (not that i don't have enough projects!) This is a 1950's Coventry Climax feather weight fire pump. Built following the second world war as a 2 man portable fire pump. later to be fitted as the auxiliary pumps on the green goddess fire engine. The little 1ltr over head cam all aluminum engine soon got a reputation for reliability and a relatively high power to weight ratio, this caught the eyes of Jim Clark from Lotus and the engine was further developed into the lotus and cooper racing cars.
