I'm so excited to try this!!!! I'll be checking out ur shop for supplies! I've been wanting to do diy soldered crystal jewelry but I don't have a smoke catcher thingy yet, and all the chemicals kinda scare me....this seems like a nice easy way to slide into that later on.... plus soldered caps can be dull looking....I love how these r so extra w bling and mica powder! Ty so much for sharing this amazing fun idea!
Ohhh! Becky Nunn! I love your work! So this is different epoxy putty than from the hardware stores- those dry so quickly! Does the clay come in other colours? & last, how do you keep the mica powder from rubbing off? Do you seal it? Thank you for this tutorial!
Unfortunately, we have not used eyeshadow, so it is hard to say if it will work. If you have extra clay, it might make for a good experiment. We highly suggest the Mica powders since they will stick to the crystal clay on its own. We also like to use a clear matte acrylic spray sealant on top of it for added durability. Thanks for watching.
That's how I do mines. I do use my old eye shadows palettes. Perfect to give a second life to some scandalous shades ^^ But I varnish after curing with a polymer clay varnish
I am pretty sure this is a self hardening clay since its mixed from 2 parts. Like Epoxy clay. She says you have about 90 minutes work time and then it starts to harden. Hardens in 2 hours. I have not used Crystal brand clay but I have used Epoxy clay (which is a 2 part mix) and it self hardens.
I haven't used epoxy clay...hmm I'll have to check it out. I have been looking for a way to incorporate my moonstones without damaging this might work! I appreaciate the feedback Thank you both!
Crystal / epoxy clay comes with two parts a and b (clay and hardener).she premixed the clay before filming the video. After mixing equal parts a/b you have about an hour to work with it before it begins to harden. After that it takes 24 hours to fully cure .
