Hello Matt, First of all let me state that Mathew Morgan is the epitome of ‘shotgun reviewers’, his attention to fine details about each and every firearm satisfies the most discrete potential new or preowned firearm purchaser! The ‘other’ gentleman out there on TH-cam can not even come close to Matt’s years of experience in the industry! I purchased a preowned MK38, Grade 5 Sporter from him earlier this year and I am delighted with it in both performance and condition! Michael P. (USA)
Mirook all day long! It looks like they spent more time on it and wood is better. Here in USA, we don't have a choice and are stuck with Brownings with different specs, unless we import which makes the purchase cost prohibitive. GREAT VIDEO!
Thank you for your comment and kind words. I know that Mirokus are scarce over there. No problem to advise on export though so please contact me directly if you require any assistance. Kind regards, Matthew
I stuck an Inflex 2 pad onto my MK38 Sporter and the fit is perfectly acceptable, it was the simplest (and cheapest) way for me to get the length of pull I was looking for without going down the fully fitted route.
Thank you for your comment and kind words. I hope that the video does prove useful to many as that was the idea, to educate and inform. Kind regards, Matthew
Great video. I still shoot a 3800 Trap. I can't see any reason to upgrade yet. It's a 32 inch Teauge and I shoot sporting with it. Love it. At 65 I think the gun will out last me.
Thank you for your comment and kind words. There are still lots of Mirokus even older than your trusty 3800 earning their keep out there, such strong guns. Kind regards, Matthew
Fantastic and very informative and thorough review. Thank you! Sadly, neither of those amazing shotguns are available in the United States and I am very much jealous of those who have easy access to them. I don't align with what you said about the lighter weight of the Browning making it a bit inferior to the Miroku though. Since it has the weight adjustment system, that makes it more flexible for customization. You can always add the weights to the Browning but can't make the Miroku lighter, if you desire to do so.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the review. It always amazes me the different models that each country gets particularly that in the US your options of Browning seem to be limited (virtually no Mirokus at all too). I wouldn't agree that I said that the Browning is inferior just not to my liking with being so lightweight 'out of the box'. Another 4 or 5 ounces with no weights and in my opinion it would make much more sense. Again with the MK38 being heavier to start with I think it makes a better crossover gun for sporting/trap. If you are interested in either model please contact me directly. Kind regards, Matthew
I have had many shotguns but neaver a Miroku o/u. A lot of browning and the one gun I shot with best is the older generation XS. A great video and very fair between both guns. In this comparison the Miroku would be a very temping buy.
Thank you for your comment and kind words, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. The older generation XS certainly has a nicer feel in the grip than the Pro but again that is just my opinion. Kind regards, Matthew
Great video as usual thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience. For me it would have to be the Miroku. Whilst the ultra xs is a fantastic gun, there's just too many bits and bobs that won't get used (super tight chokes etc). Plus I feel that the checkering and engraving (some of it hand chased I'm assuming?) give the Miroku a bit more soul. Cheers.
Thank you for your comment and kind words. In answer to your questions the Miroku is hand chequered (versus laser on the Browning) not entirely sure about the engraving on the MK though. There is no question that Mirokus have soul. Kind regards, Matthew
For me it’s the browning ( I own three brownings and one miroku) I think it has more options straight out of the box including other disciplines within the clay shooting fraternity 🤙great video by the way 👏👏
Brilliant video:. Even though I prefer the lack of engraving on the Browning I'd choose the Miroku. There is just something about the feeling in the hand that I prefer. Btw you could have made this a 3 way with the MK10😊
That’s the best gun comparison video I’ve ever watched on TH-cam. I’m opting for the Miroku but wavering on 30 or 32” barrels. Any thoughts Matt. I’m 5’ 10 and 15St 🤔
Thank you for your comment and kind words. I always enjoy the comparison format because I can add so much detail. Please contact me directly and I will be happy to help. Kind regards, Matthew
Great Review. On another point can I ask you a question: I have a Yildiz Pro 30” and I am thinking about fitting an alternative recoil pad. What pad and what design of pad would you recommend? I am 5’11” with long arms.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the review. My recommendation for a recoil pad would be a Kick-Eez sporting pad with the chamfered top (for snag free mounting). Please contact me directly if you wish to discuss further. Kind regards, Matthew
Hi Matt. 11 minutes in, you mentioned the posts in the adjustable comb being longer. If you put the weights into the stock, it limits the height you can set the comb down to. It leaves the comb very high on my XS Pro, and I'm quite tall. Is there any way around this or am I making a rookie error? Really enjoyed the review of these two marvelous guns. Thanks for posting👍👍
Thank you for your comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed the video.Actually I have come across this before. Am I correct in thinking that you have the earlier model with the holes on the side of the comb? kind regards, Matthew
@eastfieldgunroom Hi Matthew. It's the more recent model, 2022, with the longer metal posts and adjusts with the allen key through the inflex pad. I was trying to see if it was practical to leave gaps between two of the weights for the posts to slot into but not sure how or if this is practical? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again. Mark
Apart from your very good and informative presentation, I am please you pronounce Miroku correctly. I have people try to correct me with this correct propnounciation by telling me it is pronounced Mirooooooooookoooooooooo. A little exagerated but you get the meaning. I checked with a Japanese national I used to work with who told me I was correct. So folks, it is pronounced Miroku and not Mirooooooooookoooooooooo! Rant over.
I have said to you before Matt but for me it is the Miroku I was in a gun shop the other day (no not to buy anything ) got talking to the owner no one in the shop so I got to handle some browning's and Miroku:s he was more keen on the Browning but they do not some how feel quite like the Miroku to me
Thank you for your comment. I have owned many Brownings but I think that particularly with the current models from each manufacturer they do feel different. Kind regards, Matthew
Thank you for your comment. I am not completely honest although I suspect it is down to wood density and the weight (or lack of it) of the Inflex recoil pads. In terms of uses I would say that the heavier steadiness of the MK would be better suited to sporting shots that also like to shoot ABT/DTL where as the XS Pro would lend itself better as an allrounder including game shooting. Kind regards, Matthew

Thank you Michael for your very kind words. I am really pleased that you are enjoying the channel and your MK38. Kind regards, Matthew
Matt I'm a Miroku fan all day long, started my over, under journey with an 800,many years ago love the look of the 38.😊
Thank you for your comment. As a Miroku fan you are not alone. Kind regards, Matthew

Matt the Miroku wins every time for me thanks from Ireland 🍀
Great video. I have often wondered how similar these two guns are in the action etc and now I know. Great stuff.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video and found it informative. Kind regards, Matthew

Thank you for your comment. I have actually tried this in the past and it fitted okay but not great. Kind regards, Matthew
Great review, particularly helpful to anyone considering a new sporter.

Very nice comparison! Ideally i´d have a mix of the two, but not one sorted by buying one of each 😀

Miroku MK38 all day long.
Thank you for your comment, they are indeed a great shotgun. Kind regards, Matthew
hi matt, where are they on price
Thank you for your comment. Please contact me directly to discuss. Kind regards, Matthew
Matt, why is the Browning so barrel heavy? Also, you mention they may be preferable for certain uses. What uses?
Thank you for your comment. I am not completely honest although I suspect it is down to wood density and the weight (or lack of it) of the Inflex recoil pads. Probably the weight of the wood. The browning barrels are lighter too. The American walnut that Miroku uses is normally heavier.
Can you do a head to head ata pro 12 and yildiz pro? Which is the best budget Turkish branded gun
Thank you for your comment. I will add this particular 'head to head' to the list. Kind regards, Matthew
I wouldn’t know whether to choose the Mirowning or the Browoku? 😂
Mk 38 every time.
Thank you for your comment. They are an excellent gun for sure. Kind regards, Matthew
I feel like you could throw yildiz pro, beretta 690 into this and have a real hard choice
Hi Mat Looking a bit of help Purchased a Meroku ser number 332267 could you give me an idea of age the gun has 28" barrels and is in great condition
Thank you for your comment. I think that you may have sent me an email. Will reply ASAP. Kind regards, Matthew
