I stepped away from my PC for a few minutes and this video came up following the one I had just seen. I had no idea which symphony around the world was playing but I was duly impressed and loved what I was hearing. When I looked to see that it was a high school symphony, I was astounded. Everyone involved with this performance should be very VERY proud. Thank you, Moanalua High School Symphony Orchestra! OUTSTANDING!!
a story about courage, friendship, trust, pain, weakness, true love, family, fear, and just being human....you can just feel it in the music. live on frodo and sam :)
from the first time i saw the first movie ten years ago... I loved Lord of the Rings, and I still do. Actually, i don't think there will be a time i won't love it any more. Great, wonderful performance. Keep going, ladies and gentlemen.
So beautiful. Can't believe it's by a high school orchestra band. As the band play all the medley of different key pieces of the LOTR soundtrack, my mind plays the corresponding scene from the movie :'D
We're doing this in the school orchestra, and the junior choir are singing "in dreams," which will be amazing. Plus, I play the tuba. Tubas are cool. :-)
i'd love it with the vocal part at 6:48..but they made it sound better =) i love this piece..i'm a member of a band in the philippines and we played this..good job guys..hope that our band master's plan in making us an orchestra come true :D we lack instruments
It's in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. They're one of the two god tier schools in the state. Moanalua High School (this band) on Oahu and Maui High School on Maui are both schools full of insane talent.
@KWGWR I believe a few parts got cut, due in part that this was an Encore piece and there was still another group left to perform for this ~5 hour Concert.
So relaxing♥ Lord of the Rings You are my favourite film. The characters show love through out the film and sticked by each other with such pain. now a man isn't judged on his success, he's judged on his pain and suffering. in this case, It's Aragon, legolas, gimili,Gandalf, frodo, sam, pippin, merry and all the characters. I love you all ♥ peace be upon you
I know, I was absolutely loving it and then they started rushing that last half. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as effective at bringing out the emotion as it is when you slow it down and hesitate a bit more.
You guys are SO. FREAKING. LUCKY. I'm playing an arrangement of songs from FOTR in Orchestra next year, but it's not nearly this cool! You all sound fantastic!
Only gripe... the brass section seems a little weak... the orc theme needs those punchy horn blasts to sound menacing. But still amazing! My high school orchestra performed the same suite, but with a few more stuff-ups... but our brass section made the orc theme sounded so badass :)
yayyyyyyy! this is great! I must see this again when flash updates because the nowadays update freeze the video in my pc -_-... but this is great!! I've listened another version and might be it's just me but somehow the way the musicians are positions has influence in the sound resulted :O! (at least for my brain). This was epic D: must fav! and watch later again definitely!!
wow this is very very good for a high school orchestra i wish my school's orchestra was as large as this. we unfortunately only have a few violists and are also lacking cellists :(
thats how fast they were supposed to go. sometimes mohs goes at a different tempo. it's not only for the audience but to push its students to be better musician's
I remember playing this in secondary school and falling in love with it. Lots of good memories with that orchestra :)

I LOVE 1:59 where the 2nd section of strings join in and add to the music, wonderful piece!!
The part after 3:30 you can almost SEE the Orks hammering and forging their army. AMAZING, people! Great conzert!

The music for the Lord of the Rings is in another class to everything else on its kind!

So beautiful. Can't believe it's by a high school orchestra band. As the band play all the medley of different key pieces of the LOTR soundtrack, my mind plays the corresponding scene from the movie :'D

@KWGWR I believe a few parts got cut, due in part that this was an Encore piece and there was still another group left to perform for this ~5 hour Concert.

Pretty cool HS; my grandsons were in the HS orchestra. I didn’t know if they played TLOTR fellowship of the tings
Yeah, the 2nd Chair got the solo since this was an encore piece, the Concertmistress had her solos in the 2 pieces prior to this selection.
Excellent. Beautifully arranged.

3:20 motyw Uruk- Hai najlepsza to najlepsza część!
I know, I was absolutely loving it and then they started rushing that last half. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as effective at bringing out the emotion as it is when you slow it down and hesitate a bit more.

I'm going to play this next Saturday! So exited!

You guys are SO. FREAKING. LUCKY. I'm playing an arrangement of songs from FOTR in Orchestra next year, but it's not nearly this cool! You all sound fantastic!

Time to go watch Lord Of The Rings now :D
OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH HOLY CRAP I LOVE LORD OF THE RINGS
It has to feel so epic to be playing that Mordor theme, though.
Pure bliss
Only gripe... the brass section seems a little weak... the orc theme needs those punchy horn blasts to sound menacing. But still amazing! My high school orchestra performed the same suite, but with a few more stuff-ups... but our brass section made the orc theme sounded so badass :)
Very touching

AMAZING
It sounds so pretty n-n
We're playing this for our upcoming concert ^-^
very impressive
That was really impressive.
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tempo at 5:00 for the Breaking of the Fellowship was completely off; it lacked the slow, graceful sadness of that scene.
Yeah. Way too fast. Would it have killed someone to listen to the actual track?
Talbot Hook Agreed. Didn't have the same charm as the original.
thats how fast they were supposed to go. sometimes mohs goes at a different tempo. it's not only for the audience but to push its students to be better musician's
