May Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) bless the Islam21c team with the best in this life and the next for bringing us together on their platform, ameen. "The believers are but brothers." [Quran 49:10]
This is one of the best discussions I've seen so far about community, identity, and principles. Not only do they discuss topics that are highly relevant to Muslims in Canada, but there are many ideas & lessons that Muslims in Canada can carry over from our UK brethren. Everything from the family unit, integration, prevent/c-59, da'wah, the relationship between activists and scholars, and how the Muslim community can work together (even with its differences) is discussed. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, what can happen if and when community volunteers & community leaders meet more often to have both *candid* and *brotherly* discussions without egos, without fear, and with love & respect. The 1.5 hour video podcast is worth it. Consider screening it at your local Masjid, followed by a panel discussion with local Imams and open Q&A & discussion with the congregation. This video podcast not only helps us generate solutions for Muslims in Canada, but also what to expect in terms of the factors that may shape and influence our identity in the future.
Great works bring the big podcasts of U.K together for one big episode and sharing your perspectives, thoughts and ideas. May Allah bless all your works immensely!

Dilly's right. Keep the connection with "back home" alive, going into 3rd, 4th, 5th generations. Overseas money plays a big role in the development of "back home". On the misconception of "back home" somehow meaning a regression in living standards, i'd disagree, thanks to folks who think like Dilly, and the financial firepower they wield, collectively, there are now places where you can arguably have a better quality of life than in Europe...eg Bahria Town Karachi. Thats primarily fueled by and thanks to, overseas money.
